I don't know what fosgate amp you have exactly, but you probably made a mistake. Some manufacturers test their max power output by just putting an enormus amout of power though their unit for a split second until it breaks. So always look at the rms values. I just looked it up on ebay and it said @ 2 ohms it will have 430wattsX1channel. A good rule of thumb is check the fuse value. So, far I haven't been wrong with it. To calculate power you take volts times current, so volts*current=power. A car's nominal voltage is 12volts not running. So, take the fuse/s ratings and multiply it by 12 and you will get approximate max power output. For instance I have a Memphis 2500watt amp. It has an external 250A fuse so 250*12=3000. I know that my amp is capable of well over 2500 watts. But this only works with the fuse value that came in the amp. If you up the fuse amp value you won't up the power out, you will just blown something. I hope I was able to help and not confuse you. Good luck.

improper wiring. familiarize yourself with paralleled versus serial wiring and ohms law. otherwise, ensure that there is proper clearance for the amp to cool.

I have the Nitro BMWX 483 4 channel amp, BMWX 484 2channel amp , and I have the Nitro BMWX 424 4 band EQ !! Now what I'm trying to do is hook up both amps together to the EQ ! So far, I hav the BMWX...

From what I have read about this EQ it is just for subsonic frequencies. You really don't want to run your components through this EQ. Leave the components running off of the 4 channel amp and your sub box on the two channel with the EQ in series between your head unit and the sub amp.

My nitro bmw-486 amp plays but want put out loud sound

I have the same exact amp. And my friend has the smaller 1600 watt amp, and this happened to his. Basically, just start from scratch. Unhook every single wire, and rewire it. If that doesn't work, look at the side of it, and there are a few knobs that you can adjust using a philips head screwdriver. Try adjusting the bass boost knob.

I have one 12inch 1000 watt mtx sub what size amp should i buy

Hello taona80,

If the 1,000 watts is RMS, I'd recommend an amp in the 750-1,000 watt RMS range, perhaps like the Alpine MRP-M1000 or Rockford-Fosgate T1000bd. If the 1,000 watts is peak power, the subs continuous (RMS) power handling is much lower, probably 300-400 watts. In that case, I'd recommend the Alpine MRP-M500 or Rockford-Fosgate T500-1bd.

Hi mate very nice amp you got there here is the specs for it

Model: MA Audio HK401SX
Hard Kore Series 1800 Watt 1 Channel High Performance Class X Car Amplifier
1 x 1800W RMS @ 0.5 Ohm Mono
1 x 1200W RMS @ 1 Ohm Mono
1 x 650W RMS @ 2 Ohm Mono
1 x 500W RMS @ 4 Ohm Mono
Fully Unregulated MOSFET Power Supply

if you have 2 12s just bridge them and you will have 650wrms at 2ohm running to them or one sub at 4 ohm 500w rms ps they should pump iam running 2 12s with just 360rms at 2ohm and they do the job good luck
