Its no doubt the flyback. But need the model number to be able to give you more suggestions as to the actual problem.

Was watching TV, heard a pop and the screeen went black. Now when I turn it on, the pwoer light blinks green but their is no picture or audio. The light then starts blinking red

Hi,
Is is standby light blinking red or any other light? Let me know how many times red standby light blinking after three seconds long pause to provide you helpful info.
It seems pop sound was due to broken lamp, please check lamp inside tv and if it is broken, replace it to solve tv problem.
Hope this will help.
Thanks.

Moved playstation to friends tv played fine. Connected back to my tv power lights come on but No sound or picture yet all cables are ok

You need to reset the display, follow these steps :

Step 1. Turn the PS3 off into standby (red light on)

Step 2. Press and hold the power button. It will beep when you first press it then beep again 5 seconds later. Release the power button when you hear this second beep.

Step 3. Wait for the PS3 to start up with normal display settings. If you are using HDMI make sure only the HDMI cable is connected when doing the above steps.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa

Step 1. Turn the PS3 off into standby (red light on)

Step 2. Press and hold the power button. It will beep as soon as you press it and then about 5 seconds later it will beep again. Let go of the power button when you hear this second beep.

Step 3. Wait for your PS3 to start.

This solution basically resets the video output back to standard definition.

Have an old sony HDTV proj tv, and the picture went out last night. I heard sort of a "pop" then no picture

Pop sound shows that some thing went wrong inside TV and most probably any part got busted.
Let me know model number of your Sony TV and does its standby red light blinking? if yes, how many times it blinks between 3 seconds interval.
