You could have dirt or a malfunction of the optical system. Get it to a local electronist to get it cleaned.

SOURCE: My Nikon S630 says "memory

Take the memory card out of the camera and look at it. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

I got a used Coolpix s630 camera and it turned on the first day I got it, but the next day when I turned it on, the screen was all white with the words "Battery Exhausted" written in blue, and...

Hi there! It sounds like you need to charge the battery. Since you bought the camera used, it may not have come with all the necessary accessories. If you don't have one, you will need to purchase a charger that is compatible with the battery in your camera. The battery model for your camera is Nikon EN-EL12. If you do an online search for "Nikon EN-EL12 charger" you can find many for sale. You may also need to consider the possibility, again since this is a used camera, that the battery is just dead. This happens with rechargeable batteries--they are only good for so many "cycles"--the series of charge, use, recharge. You can find cheap replacement batteries by doing an online search as well.

I hope I answered your question!

Hello. Begin by cleaning all of the terminals in the camera and all of the battery terminals with the eraser end of a common pencil. you may merely have a thin coating of corrosioin preventing you from getting a good connection and also a good recharge.
If that does not fix it, try these steps:
f your camera will not turn on, do the following:
  1. Remove all sources of power (batteries and AC Adapter) from the camera.
  2. Remove the Picture Card.
  3. Wait a full minute.
  4. Press the Power button twice.
  5. Connect the appropriate AC Adapter to the camera.

S630 lens out and wont turn on

Cameras belonging to the S Series really do have a battery type option that needs to be set up first for proper power connection.

Recommended batteries are just:
- Alkaline (Non-rechargeable)
- Nickel-metal Hydride (Rechargeable)

Just the proper battery type by:

- Pressing MENU/OK button
- Scroll to the right until you are in SETUP 2
- Keep on scrolling down and look for battery type
- Press the right button to pick up on 2 options
like Alkaline and Ni-MH
- Press MENU/OK for changes to be saved
- Keep pressing MENU/OK to get out of the MENU

Once, it's done, camera needs to be turned off for a few seconds
so that settings made will be refreshed with the camera.

As you turn camera on, you're now ready to take many pictures.

ALKALINE (Non-rechargeable) batteries when set to the correct battery type will really take a maximum of 100 pictures.

For the Rechargeable batteries (Ni-MH), when those are fully charged, and the battery type is set to Ni-MH, it will be taking more than a hundred of course.

I hope this help you a lot.
