Question about Pioneer Audio Players & Recorders

Open Question

I recently changed out my Motorola cable box for one with HDMI. After hooking it up to my 62" Mitsubishi (WD-62628) DLP TV and my Pioneer Elite (VSX-72TXV) with digital audio I can't seem to get any sound. I also use a Harmony 880 remote for everything. Is the problem in the remote, TV, or A/V receiver? Can you help me out?

That TV is suppose to have automatic input detection but if it doesn't work you can press the input button on the remote and then use the arrows and enter to select the input you are trying to use.

I want to know what type of cable wire do you need to hook up for HDTV and where you hook it up at on the TV

HD can come from two types of cables. A RF cable, normally it is a RG 6 or maybe a RG 59 coax cable. A HDMI cable is the other method of obtaining HD on your HDTV. A HDMI cable has a rectangular shape with small pins, its about 1/2 inch wide by 1/8 inch in height. The RF connector is about 1/4 in circular. A HD signal can come from a cable box or it can come from a DVD or Blue Ray player. Google these type of cables and look on your TV for the connectors.

I have horizontal lines on my Mitsubishi 62525 dlp tv. it does this on cable and component sources (only ones i have hooked up). When you pull up the tv menu these lines do not appear and also the lines...

Bad capacitors. On my set HDMI looks clear, but component inputs have moving horizontal lines. There's a guy named Tbully on AVS forum that did a PowerPoint presentation that will point you to the capacitors to change. Sorry I don't have a link at this time.

Here is the picture for a Mitsu62525 power board, which is similar.

You recognise it because you get power cables innesting into the power board.

If you decide to work on your TV, get the service manual first.

After I reset the system, the Audio menu gave me access to the TV speakers that had been turned off. I turned them on and had to wire audio cabes from my sat box to the component audio in on the TV.

Random flashing streaks on screen

Check multiple inputs and multiple sources. Check your dvd player; does it happen there? If not, you are probably right to suspect the cable box.

When you are checking multiple inputs, you want to make sure that if your cable box uses component or HDMI, that you check your DVD player on the same style input.

The reason for this is that your electrical chassis treats the analog (composite, s-video) inputs different from the HD and digital inputs (component, DVI, HDMI).

If you try your DVD player and cable box on the same input and experience the same probelm, you probably need to have the electrical chassis rebuilt in order to fix a problem on the tv's FMT board.

Cost: $800+
Wait time: 4-8 weeks.
