Carb jets are probably rusted or clogged due to ethanol gas. I recomend replacing the carb. Will take adjustment once replaced, but a $25 dollar solution is cheaper than buying a new chainsaw!

How do i adjust the carbarator on my poulan chain saw stalls out if running at full throttle when cutting

Ok, so there are 2 adjustment needles on the carburetor. A H and an L... If your saw is idling fine you won't have to worry about adjusting the L needle.

Your focus will be on the H... the high.

Firstly, if there is any plastic covers on the adjustment needles, remove them. Usually red and white in color... or just white. They serve no purpose(EPA regulations for California). Now adjustart in quarter turn increments.. turn the screw to the right until snug, now back it out 1 full turn. This is your starting point. While holding the trigger all the way in, turn the needle counter clockwise in quarter turn increments, use your ear to tell when you have peak performance.

If you can't hold it down cause it bogs out, just hold it in as much as you can while you turn the needle until you can fully depress the trigger all the way

Carb rpl and adjustment

you have 2 screws marked H and L. With the engine running, turn the L (low) screw for best idle. Then for the H (high) screw, Hold at full throttle, turn screw, and listen for smothest and fastest revs.

Chainsaw dies out when gas is pressed to full throtle

Carb needs teardown and cleaning. May be a stuck float or clogged jet.
Spraycleaner just wont cut it.

I have stihl chain saw it runes full throttle

After you let off of the throttle it dies instantly or just kind of quits slowly ?
It could be :
- 1 ) Your clutch is hanging up and not allowing the engine to idle while the chain is not moving.
- 2 ) You need to set the idle higher. You will need to remove the air cleaner, and find the small idle adjustment screw, and turn the screw clockwise, until it idles.
Please let me know.

Dies at full throttle.

Has it been standing for a while?
Few things to check.
1: Fuel filter in tank. Use a piece of bent wire to hook the filter through the filler hole and pull it out and swap it.They get gummed up with oil if they have been standing.
2: Fuel hose. Even the tiniest pinhole in the fuel line will cause exactly the problem you have.
3: Many chainsaws have another hose that goes from the crankcase to the carby, this is the "pulse line" and is just as critical as the fuel line.
4: Although one tuning jet is marked "H" for high speed, & one is marked "L" for low, at full revs they both deliver fuel, see if you can richen ( turn anti-clockwise ) the "L" jet a bit more and try that.

Please let me know and give me some more info, I have all confidence we can nail it.

Difficulty starting Poulan 2250 . . .

hey pete
This is easy, prime bulb 5 to 7 times with choke lever full out. Pull string, once engine starts turn off choke and pull string again. ( throughout process do not pull trigger )Engine should start, let it idle 30 seconds, then finally pull trigger to rev up engine.
