Question about Nordic Track Exercise & Fitness

2 Answers

The pin won't come out of my folding treadmill.

I recently moved and haven't been able to unfold my treadmill since. It's a Nordic Track EXP2000 Spacesaver, and worked perfectly fine up until now. I can pull on the pin and move it a hair but otherwise it won't budge. I tried unscrewing the knob and that didn't work either. I also tried gripping it with a screwdriver with no success. Any ideas???

Thanks!

Can someone tell me if there's a way to reverse whatever locking mechanism has the latching pin locked if I moved my treadmill without the incline in the lowest position?

    Any help would be appreciated!

Hi, Do you have a model number for this Nordic Track? It should star with; NCT and then some numbers. Thanks.

I'm looking at the parts breakdown, and is this pin located near the wheel? is it possible that this pin is actually a threaded bolt that must be turned. Sorry for the questions, but i want to be sure. I realize it is not easy communicating via email with such a detailed task.Thanks.

  • sarahmac00 Jun 03, 2010

It's not threaded, except for the part the knob is on of course. There's a small piece of plastic on the inside of the bar next to the belt part that seems to be loose. I've tried prying it, and it almost comes out, but not quite. Might just need a bit of brute force. The bolt is about 16 inches from the wheel.

Ok, I'm reviewing the diagram now.

Click on this link, and at the top of the page, click on the "exploded view". Tell me which numbered part or parts on the diagram that we are speaking of. You may also find this diagram to be helpful in solving the problem. Let me know the numbered part(s). Thanks again.

    Did this diagram help?

  • sarahmac00 Jun 03, 2010

    It's the lock knob sleeve.

  • GetMeOttaHere Jun 03, 2010

Ok, there is an internal spring that applies pressure to the locking pin, when the knob is atttached you should be able to pull outward to disengage the pin from lock position. With the knob tightened all the way clockwise position, try pulling the knob outward to release, unless the pin somehow was bent while moving it should release. As was said before, it is possible that brute strength may be needed.

Before folding the treadmill, adjust the incline to the lowest position. If this is not done, the treadmill may be permanently damaged. Remove the key and unplug the power cord.

1. Raise the treadmill about halfway to the vertical position.

2. Move your right hand to the position shown and hold the treadmill firmly. Using your left hand, pull the latch knob to the left and hold it. Raise the treadmill until the latch pin is aligned with the hole in the catch. Insert the latch pin into the catch. Make sure that the latch pin is fully inserted into the catch.

I hope this helps!

The issue doesn't seem to be the treadmill. I believe that when it was folded it was on the lowest incline. I can wiggle the belt part back and forth as much as the pin will allow, so would that be the incline? Would that cause the pin to lock?

    Thanks!

  • sarahmac00 Jun 03, 2010

I was incorrect...I folded and moved it with an incline. I can turn the power on, and adjusted the incline down to 1.0, but the treadmill still won't unfold. Is there anything else I can do?

    Thanks!

Where's the safety latch for a Nordictrack T7si Treadmill?

The fold up latch is on the underside of the walking surface. There is a chrome tube that has a pull knob on the side of it to release the treadmill and allow you to fold it down. You do need to lift the weight of the deck slightly to allow the pin to work freely. Once the pin is pulled you can ease the walking surface down flat.
Hope this helps.

How i unfold it?

There is allot of weight on the "Storage Latch". You may need to push forward on the treadmill a bit, pull the black knob, then slowly let the machine unfold. Taking the weight off the "Storage Latch" will make it easier to release the latch..

Please help for how to disassemble a NordicTrack EXP2000 treadmead for moving. Thanks.

The best way is to detach the two upright posts that hold up the console from the frame. You will also have to unplug the wiring harness inside one of those uprights. Once you have done that, you can move the machine in just two pieces. If you have any questions, feel free to contact our Customer Service Department @ service@iconfitness.com
