If the oven is still heating, but the carousel isn't turning, this problem is commonly attributed to a turntable motor that has worn out and may need to be replaced. The motor is attached to the center plastic piece (called a turntable shaft or coupler) under the middle of the glass tray. The following link explains how to access and replace the motor:

This is a very simple repair, that usually is not expensive. The price range will be determined by the model and manufacturer. This repair can also be performed on an over the range model microwave oven WITHOUT uninstalling it.

You can refer to any of the following websites for comparison:

The first three sites listed have helpful exploded view diagrams to assist you with locating and properly identifying the part(s) you need. You may also consider replacing the turntable shaft if it shows signs of wear.

If you have any questions, please post back with your MODEL NUMBER and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Testimonial: "We do have the over the range model, GE Advantium #SCA2001. The shaft is very loose and wobbly, but does not come all the way out. I don't think it is the motor, because when I pull the tray out, and turn on the microwave, the shaft turns by itself. Any ideas?"

It could still be the motor. If the turntable will not turn with the glass tray installed, but WILL turn without it, the motor is probably worn out. As these small motors age, they can become weak to the point where they do not work under any kind of load. This is a common symptom.

Turn table doesn't working on my microwave anymore

The turntable is driven by a small electric motor mounted underneath your microwave oven. The motor may have failed. The motor is accessible from underneath the unit and usually a cover plate has to be removed to gain access

Why microwave does not heat anymore

Well, we are looking at a bad magnetron, cracked high voltage diode, or a shorted high volage capacitor. I would suggest replacing the microwave oven because the expence involved to have it serviced.

My Kenmore Built-in microwave doesn't heat and the turn table doesn't turn. Model 911-47812200

It is good that the microwave does not work all together. It might be an interlock button or even a relay connection burn on the main mother circuit board.

Need a qualified technician. The service manual will be like $20-50.

There is a small motor inside the bottom of the microwave that turns the table. Check the base and see if that is not broken. If that is ok, it is most likely that the motor for that is shot. It is easy to fix but may not be worth the hassle.
You need to remove the cabinet (while unplugged, naturally) and take the bottom apart to replace this. There may also be a small cover underneath the machine which accesses this part, saving trouble, so check there first. Unscrew the small motor and take to a parts dealer in your area for pricing of replacement
Hope this helps, Please rate and comment, Thank You Joe

The glass turn table wont spin??

Hi, Your problem lies with one or both areas. If you remove the glass turn table, you'll see a plastic grooved driver that goes thru the floor. See if you can lift up and remove it. Does it look broken? If not, there is a drive motor underneath that drives this plastic piece which turns the turntable. You'll need the model number to take to your local parts house for replacements. Hope this helps.

My convection/microwave quit rotating.

Hello Tina,
Usually those turn tables(or lazy Susan's colloquially) are driven by a small motor. The motor attaches to a gear or spindle which transfer the rotational energy to the turn table. A plastic gear may have been broken or popped loose. It might also use a belt to transfer the energy, the belt could have worn and is now slipping which would cause the table to stay stationary.
