Question about GE Refrigerators
I have a 3 year old GE Side by Side GSS25QGTA Refrigerator. The water inlet line to the ice maker has started freezing as it enters the back of the fridge. Water then begins to run out the water input area at the top (back) of the fridge. I cleared the ice block but the problem returned within 12 hours.
Have you checked for any water leakage around the water inlet.
It looks like that the the water inlet valve on the back of the unit where the water supply comes in can have a slow leak and will cause ice to buildup and block the fill tube.
Please disconnect the ice maker line from the valve and watch to see if it has a slow drip, as it can easily block the the fill tube.
The valve can leak because of sediment in the water preventing it from closing or low water pressure.
