Hi,

As these codes vary between manufacturers and functionality is dependant on other factors with the exact model of the remote control I need;

1) The exact make and model of your home theatre system.

2) Exact model of the remote you intend to use.

Thanks.

The name of the sound system is Sony HT-CT500 and the remote is a Sony AV System RM-ANP037.

    Hi,

I am assuming this is the remote that came with the unit itself and it already controls the home theatre system but you want to find the codes to control the TV and other accessories with this remote?

If this is the case you can input the exact information on each accessory you want to control with this remote and get the codes associated with it from this link which also contains exact step by step instructions on how to program this remote.

    http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-r...

Alternatively if you need a code to control the home theatre system itself I suggest you try 759.

If the problem is resolved please do reflect this with a vote for the solution. Many thanks.

Get my dish reciever, sony home theatre, and 55in sanyo tv to work together

If your TV and sound system both have a Digital Optical Out/In you can use a TOSLink cable (an optical cable) to connect your TV directly to your sound system, and remove the connection between the DISH receiver and the sound system. As long as your sound system is on the right input, all sound accompanying the picture on screen will go to your sound system. Most TVs also have an option to turn off the internal speakers, if not just reduce your volume all the way down to avoid that weird ghost sound effect. If you use your sound system all the time for volume, you can program the sound system to your DISH remote's AUX, and even set the remote so that it only sends volume and mute commands to the sound system (that way you don't have to dance between sat, tv, and aux all day, just leave it in sat mode).

To program your remote to the sound system, follow the instructions on the sheet you got with the remote (yeah, right like anyone kept that) http://www.mydish.com/support/remotecodes you can use that link to program your remote. You can also use the learning mode if your remote has a little glossy square on the top left side and you have the original remote to the sound system. (Learning mode can be gleaned from the remote manual Remote Control Manuals)

After programming the aux device, and verifying that it changes the volume up, down, and mute, THEN:

Hold AUX until light blinks 3 times, hit pound (#), Volume Up, 0 (Zero), pound (#), SAT, then test to make sure it goes up and down.

Try the help menu in the comcast remote. I believe you have to program it again for the LG to work the sound.

Is my tv audio doomed or will the home theatre system work anyways.

some devices these days have a built in volume control, try using your remote for which ever dvd player or satalite bix you use, on push the volume up button on it while you have the volume on the tv maxed out so that you will be able to tell a defference if it works or not.

How to redirect the sound of my new LG 52" HDTV LCD to my LG home theatre?

There sould be audio outputs on the back of it, and the manual should clearly show how to set up a home theatre with an external sound system and all.

I don't know what kind of sound system you have, but I think it might be best to connect your video source (typically DVD player) to your sound system, as it usually can be done better that way. No need to introduce another link in the chain (your TV) that could degrade sound. Also any external tuner could (should) be connected to your sound system directly.

If you use the internal tuner in your TV to watch TV the audio out is your option. Best way to get this right is to consult the manual. They usually have some diagrams that shows a few options of how to do it.
