Format it again in your pc, check the internet for a format that works in both systems and use it.

Need to reformat iomega 34275 from Mac to PC

Plug hdd to usb, after that, right click on my computer and go to manage, there go to disk management. You should see there all hard drives connected to your computer. Here localize your external hdd and see if it is initialized (you'l see in the right side of device the status), if it's not initialized right click on that area and initialize the hdd. After that go on the left side again right click and there could be two ways to format these hdd
1. if windows see something on hdd right click and go to format and follow the instructions from there
2. if windows don't see any partition there you must create one. Right click on hdd and select create new partition and after that follow instruction on your screen

Iomega 1TB HD Works on iMac but not on Windows Laptop?

as the mac has a diffreent format to a pc you cannot connect up the drive to a pc because it simply wont recodnise it. the best way is to network the 2 computers together then alow file sharing on the mac and searcc with windows through the network to find the drive. then copy them across the network to your pc. this will then reformat the files to PC files at they hit your PC

Trying to find manuals how to use the iomega with my apple mac but are not sure which one i have. On the hard-drive it says iomega with an i above it.

Manuals are not the easiest to come by for Iomega hard drives, but I can certainly assist you with formatting your hard drive for your Mac

All you need to do is this:

font.f1 {font: 14.0px Times}  * From your desktop click anywhere on a blank space on your desktop.

*Now you should see Finder listed near the Apple menu icon.

* From the Finder menu, click on Go, then Utilities from the drop-down menu. This will take you to your Utilities folder.

* Locate and launch the Disk Utility application

* Once Disk Utility is open, with your Iomega drive hooked up to your Mac and turned on, look in the left side bar and you should see your hard drive.

* Click on the hard drive and this will make the right window available to you.

* Now click the Partition tab

* It is here that can change your volume scheme from Current to 1 partition (or more).

* Once you have done that make sure to give your hard drive a name.

* Under Format: Make sure to select "Mac OS Extended(Journaled) format (this is the readable format for a hard drive being used on Macs).

* Once you are satisfied that the partition(s) is configured to your liking, the click Options button.

* Select GUID Partition Table for Bootability on an Intel Mac computer or notebook

*or select Apple Partition Map for a Power PC based Mac computer or notebook.

• Click Ok for that selection

• Click the Partition button and your drive will be ready to use once the format completes.

This should do the trick. Let me know if it works for you.

Thanks!

Iomega Select Desktop Hard Drive 1TB not decteted by pc

Try Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Computer Management, Storage, Disk Management.

Check there to see if the drive is listed, "online" and has a "Healthy" Partition.

You may need to format the hard drive before you use it.
If your using a PC....go to Control Panel>Admin tools>Computer managemant.Disk Management....Create a new partition and format the drive (NTFS).

Using a Mac go to spotlight and type Disk utillities, partition the drive...

Iomega desktop hard drive doesnt connect to computer

Your pc is generally configured to save all stuff to C drive as its default. You could then cut and past it into your new drive or when you are downloading specify the drive letter of you 1tb drive to save to. If you do not do this it is normal for it to save to C drive-that is also what mine does. I doubt anything is wrong-it is just the default drive. It soulnds like it is connected-copy and paste something onto it to test it(dont cut and paste at this point as you need to be certain it works. When you have done this,, open up whatever you copied onto it and ensure it is ok.

Harddrive problem

It is because it is formatted for a MAC, it is not a compatible file system with windows. The only way to see the drive is to have your friend burn to dvd or have a large jumpdrive to put files on. The HDD will need to be formatted for NTFS or FAT to have your Vista machine recognize. That would of course erase whatever is on the drive now.

Hope this Helps,
