Samsung 213T Monitor - Video Mode Not Supported error

We have a Samsung 213T monitor. I was trying to adjust the display by using Right Click on the display and selecting different options. After several choices that didn't make the screen better, I selected one that now has made my screen black and gives me an error message "Video Mode Not Supported". I can't exit or escape from the screen. I've even turned the computer off and turned it back on. What do I do?

For anyone that's interested I paid for live chat to get this fixed. After 2 hours, the only thing we could do was reboot and bring up the computer in safe mode so we could access the windows screen and then restore to a previous date.

Height adjustment on monitor stand is stuck. This stand is used on the Samsung SyncMaster 213T and the Dell 2001FP monitor.

I'd call or email samsung. They actually want to know about product problems so the next edition is an improvement. Their Owner's manual should have contact info, or the install cd or google. Tomshardware.com
always seems to be very helpful and may have a "fix".

Video mode not supported..how do I get it off of that?

This means you've selected a screen resolution that your monitor is not able to display. Power cycle the computer, and immediately start pressing F8 repeatedly until it brings you to a white text on black menu, select "Enable VGA Mode" and the computer will start up in a very low resolution. You can then go into your display properties and adjust the resolution to a higher resolution that your monitor does support. Review the monitor user's guide to determine the supported screen resolutions.

I am trying to connect a samsung syncmaster 151v to my computer and the moniter reads video mode not supported what am i doing wrong?

Your resolution is set to high for the monitor to accept it. Go into control panel and click on Display then click on display setting and lower your resolution keep going lower until your monitor accepts the resolution size and your monitor should work for you.

I hope this helps you out any positive feedback to me would be greatly appreciated.Thank you

LG LCD Monitor won't exit Power Saving Mode

Does your desktop/PC display show anything before the monitor goes into power save mode? If nothing comes up, its possible that you have a loose VGA connection or that your video card/motherboard are defective in some ways. Try using a different monitor.

If the other monitor works fine with your computer, try changing/lowering the screen resolution. If in XP right-click on the desktop and go to Properties, and select the tab for display settings and adjust the resolution. If in Vista/Win7, right-click the desktop and select Screen Resolution/Display Settings and adjust it there. Then check and see if your LG monitor works on it.

If the other monitor also doesn't show any display, most likely the problem is either with your video cable or your PCs video card/motherboard, not the monitor.

Hope that helps. Good luck

My Samsung 213T monitor went black. Power light

I will not be surprised that it will be bad capacitors, that is the first place to check, see some samples here: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/Samsung%20Syncmaster%20214T/

Samsung SyncMaster 213T - DIM DISPLAY

I would follow the self-test below. If you see the same issue in the test screen then your monitor has lost it's sync and would need a board replaced.

If it dosn't appear during the test, then you might want to test it on another PC.

Self-Test Feature Check
1. Turn off both your computer and the monitor.
2. Unplug the video cable from the back of the computer.
3. Turn on the monitor.
If the monitor is functioning properly, you will see a box in the illustration below.

b1df19a.jpg
This box appears during normal operation if the video cable becomes disconnected or damaged.
4. Turn off your monitor and reconnect the video cable; then turn on both your computer and the monitor.

If your monitor screen remains blank after using the previous procedure, check your video controller and computer system; your monitor is functioning properly.

TV won't accept monitor input

Try changing your computers resolution to something much lower. Mode Not Supported is usually an error regarding the Display Resolution of the video card being set higher than the monitor is capable of handling.

You need to get your computer in the correct resolution and refresh rate to make the monitor work. It looks like the correct numbers for your monitor are:

Resolution: 1024x768 pixels
Refresh Rate: 60 hz

You can change these settings in the display tab or display properties (In XP - right click desktop, click properties, under settings tab adjust resolution and then click advanced, the monitor tab, and make sure refresh rate is set to 60 hz)

When your computer is starting up, hit F8 and you'll see the safe mode, safe mode with networking, etc. screen...You should see a choice that says "enable vga mode". Select that and windows will start and the os will select a screen resolution for you. After that, everything will work fine...I hope.

Good Luck!

I am trying to hook my 40 inch flat screen by samsung to my dell computer. i unplugged the cpu monitor and plugged it to my tv and the tv states that the mode is unsupported. What do i do?

Your computer is set to a resolution supported by your dell monitor but not the flat screen tv.

The easiest way to get it working is to turn the computer off, connect the flat panel to the computer and then turn the computer on.

To change the resolution of the flat-panel or monitor, right-click on the desktop, click on properties and then select the settings tab.

play with the screen resolution and find one that works best by trying each one and clicking apply. If you select a resolution not supported by your flat panel, computer will automatically revert to the previous resolution in 15 secs.
