Last night the image suddenly disappeared from the screen leaving us with two white vertical lines, one on each side of the screen. Any answers please? We have a panasonic plasma screen which has functioned very well up to the present.

This could be a poor connection with the LVDS cable which runs from the main video processing board to the screen, or a fault within the video processor on the main board. Worst case scenario is it could be a fault with the screen itself.

Hey dont open the LCD in a hurry......the problem may be due 2 usage of LCD 4 long time better dont on the pc for a day........or in night time keep it under the fan.......this may give a better result........

Colored vertical lines on monitor


Have you unplugged the power cord to the LCD? Let it sit for a minute, then try it. ALWAYS buy a UPS and plug any computer devices into it. Doesn't have to be big, a $50 unit will protect it from dangerous voltage surges.

Two vertical lines on my compaq presario (M2000) laptop


Well, since the line disappear when the screen saver comes on, I"m led to believe that all the hardware side of the equation is OK. To put it simply, if there was a malfunction in the video (chances are) it would affect that too.

I would update (most likely available as nobody usually does this) the firmware for your video card. So identify the card EXACTLY, from documentation, or from the build list on the manuf. website, goto the manufacturer, say, ATI, and find the firmware there, where you will also find instructions to install it.

Then, just to be sure, I would update the video driver for Windows, in a similar manner to the instructions above.

If, despite all the above you still have a problem, then its time to get the computer serviced.

White vertical line on left side of screen


I had a smililar problem after taking it apart i realised that i had screwed my mount skrews into the video main board and cracked it along with a few soldered wires, if you havent done any physical dammage to it try a firmware upgrade

Gateway laptop vertical dotted lines across the screen


Sounds like a problem with the LCD assembly or cable. You may want to reseat the LCD cable at the LCD end. It could be a loose internal connector in the LCD assembly.

White vertical line in the center of projected image


I have a Dell 2400MP projector that had the same problem of vertical white lines appearing over the screen.

This may seem like a simple solution, and I don't know if this will work for you, but the way I solved the problem was simply to press the bottom side of the projector, until the white lines disappear . Until now, the problem has yet to resurface.

Here's some simple steps:
1. Turn on projector
2. Connect projector to computer
3. Focus projector
4. If white vertical line appears, firmly press underside body of projector
5. See if vertical white line disappears
6. If not, try slowly pressing other parts of the body of the projector and see if white lines disappear.
7. If solution doesn't work, you may need to send it to the service center.

the vertical scanning had stopped .requires a vertical ic and caps,dont leave on to long or burn will happen to the screen.
