I am having problems again with my RCA D44LPW134YX1. When I turn on the tv I have no picture and there is a humming and/or clicking (slight). I have replaced the ballast and it still does the same. I don't think it's the color wheel as I heard the screeching of that before and it doesn't do it right now. From information if acquired on other sites, I'm thinking I might have to replace the entire light engine next? Could someone PLEASE offer some advice as I am watching a 1983 Zenith 27in (even though the picture is still very good) and I want my RCA back! Even though I HATE the piece of S...!!!!

what happens if you try it again when it normally turns on.. is it still take the same time in the second attempt after sucessful turn on ..

if this is a very annoying screeching or sqeualing type sound, it is, in my experience, the "color wheel" which is located inside the lite engine. this is a replaceable component whick costs about $110....i've done this repair many times with no problem....
