The short answer is 12ax7a and yes. If the problem is a defective tube, then replace it with another of the same type. The tube will be tight int he socket adn will require a tipping slightly in a circular motion to work it out of the socket. Pay attention to the key (space) when inserting the replacement.

Dan

P.S. Depending upon the sound you want, you can replace the 12ax7a with a 12au7 to get a softer sound. Both tubes are pin adn circuit compatible.

Hi,

Simple, just wiggle and pulling.
Then wiggle and pushing.
Watch the empty place on the socket and tube.

regards,
Gerard

My buddy recently gave me his svt-6 pro amp head and there is barely any volume coming out of it when its cranked

Assuming you've tried other known working cables, speakers, and instruments, I'd suggest just taking it into a pro repair shop. If you start poking around inside without knowing what you're doing you risk frying the amp further or perhaps frying yourself.

Changing bulbs on 70's toshiba receiver

When you say bulbs I am asuming that you mean tubes? Some receivers you can just pull the tube out of the board because it just snaps in. If you do not have a set up like this then you need to unsolder the tube from the board and then you can replace.

While playing, the power cord was accidentally pulled out. When plugged back in, the amp cuts on, but there is no sound and the led lights for peak and tone selection flash.

You have probably blown a tube. This amp has one 12ax7 and one 12au7 in the vintage preamp. You can try replacing the preamp tubes, but it can be quite dangerous if you don't know what you're doing!

Stoves E2H600- lighting behind fascia panel has gone off so cannot now see what temperature settings are! How do you remove the fascia panel to access and replace defective lighting unit/s? Many thanks,...

A bit involved but quite straightforward.
Open the grill door and you will see 4 screws on the underside of the hob - remove the inner 2.
You can now hinge up the entire hob.
On each side of the hob is a trim piece with 2 screws which retain the glass front panel. Remove these and the end trims.
Carefully pull the timer buttons away from the fascia - the simply click into position.
The glass panel can now be tilted up and removed - it is pocketed at the top.
Each of the control knob assembly can then be easily pulled away from the controls.
The fluorescent tube is situated below the controls in a recess.
Rotate the tube through 90° and lift the tube out.
Refitting is the reverse of the above procedure.

All the inputs on my ampeg bass amp are not working even the RCA input is not working. the amp still turns on

If none of the inputs work, then you may have lost part of the power supply. DO NOT go into this amp under any circumstances !!!!...there is enough voltage in here to kill you crispy !! I would strongly recommend that you take it to a respected repair shop that specializes in guitar amps. Possibly visit the ampeg website for an authorized repair center. It might cost a few bucks, but the Ampeg is highly sought after by musicians everywhere !!!....thanks... Rob
