Is there any way to confirm the solution he recommends. Can this be caused by an external factor, like DISH DVR going out because they both went out at the same time.

Severe failure in the power source board. The tv must be opened and tested, this requires at least basic knowledge of electronics. I think it's time to call the repairman, and be prepared for a hefty tag at the end, this kind of failures are always expensive.

Could this be caused by the DISH DVR going out or the reverse?

  • Azrael SRL Jun 01, 2010

Yes, if it has been a short somewhere in a device then the high tension pulse generated could have easily fried the other device. In your case i think it was the dish that actually fried the tv, they are easily damaged by even very far away lightning strikes.

Hello. It is most likely the y-drive(sus) board. The only problem is that this board usually fails when the horz.buffer ic's fail, which is usually part of the plasma display. This was a common problem with this set.The best bet is to find a new set, since the parts alone will exceed the cost of a new one.

Try a reset. Start by unplugging for 1 minute, then plug back in & if still won't restart try the following. If none of the following work, you will need a technician.

Why doesn't my neotv netgear remote no longer communicating with box?

What do the different Remote control front LED lights mean?
  • Blink blue color twice per second: Remote control has paired NeoTV PRIME and is trying to connect NeoTV PRIME.
  • Blink blue color once per second: Remote control is trying to pair the NeoTV PRIME.
  • Orange blinking: Remote control battery is low. Please replace a new set of AAA battery.

kp57ws50_57_in_rear_projection_hd_228277.jpg Problem with Sony KP-57WS520 57 in. Rear Projection

This model is really prone to one problem in particular--screen even briefly comes up bright red, green or blue and set shuts down.

15 seconds from turn on front power light should blink as set checks several things internally---if something wrong it does not let picture show.

Usually after shut down or failure power light will blink a sequence of blinks but not always depending on problem.

Did you see the screen at all go red, green, or blue before?

the more you tell me the better I can help

Car starts but shuts off after 15 seconds

Here is the link to get the manual. http://www.caralarm.com/manuals/MARS/MARS-22.pdf
See pages 20 & 21 ( see picture) With the engine running you will turn either the Smart Start or Tach Wire adjust screw, depending on which setting your box is set on. You will turn one or the other until the LED LIGHT blinks consistently.
