Are you running your laptop on battery alone? If that's the case, run it with the charger plugged in. If that sorts it out then you need to change your laptop battery
or
Restart your computer, and then press F8 during the initial startup...

review the following recommendations and use one which applies. additional information can also be found on the same site.

Alienware 17" notebook with windows 8 shutting self down at startup

If it's 3 weeks old return it. Or you can do a System Restore/Recovery. Take a look at this forum for the Restore/Recovery Procedure: http://en.community.dell.com/owners-club/alienware/f/3746/t/19441985.aspx

How do you start in safe mode? I started with power and shift. Then what do I do?

To start up in safe mode:

Shut down your computer and wait 10 seconds.

Press the power button.

Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold down the Shift key.

You should press the Shift key as soon as possible after you hear the startup tone, but not before.

Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple logo and progress indicator (spinning gear).

PC with windows xp professional , on booting , shuts down immediately everesince I uninstalled Nero Dvd writing programme

Reboot your PC and immediately start tapping the F8 key, then choose to start in safe mode. Now click the start button, then click run. Type MSCONFIG and choose startup programs and disable all startup programs and see if it boots ok. If it does you can retype msconfig and one at a time re-enable your startup programs until you find the one that makes your PC hang and reboot, Keep that one turned off after you find it, and re-enable the rest of your startup items.

Startup switch on PB G4 17 not getting apple sound, takes numerous times to boot up. Using Tiger OS, upgraded to latest. Works fine, otherwise.

If a Mac is shut down while the volume is set to zero, the standard Apple startup chime will not sound, so it is impossible to say whether or not this symptom indicates a problem.
For a startup issue such as this, I would recommend zapping the PRAM and resetting Open Firmware.
To zap the PRAM, start with a powered-down machine, press the power button, then immediately hold down the four keys: command, option, P, R. After ten seconds or so, you should hear the optical drive reset, and then the startup chime (because the volume is reset to full by this procedure). Ten more seconds, another reset, another chime. After the second time you hear the chime, release the keys.
Shut the machine down again (if it doesn't start up successfully, hold the power button until the power goes off). Press the power button, then immediately hold down the four keys command, option, O, F. You will see some tech-speak on the screen, then it will wait for input. Enter the following three lines, pressing the "return" key at the end of each:
reset-nvram set-defaults reset-all
After the last line, your Mac will reboot itself. It should now boot much more reliably. If it doesn't, chances increase that you have a hardware problem. You may want to run the Apple Hardware Test from the DVDs that came with the PowerBook to check your memory and logic board. Failing this, you are in for a trip to the shop.

Be careful on buying a new TV's. Often times, these new technology ones are much worse. Always Google the model number of the set you intend to buy and add the word 'repair' or 'complaint' to see if it is one of the many models that are customer service nightmares being produced by even the most reputable companies today.
Hope ya fix it!
