Display reads U60 Cooling Fan - oven won't heat

The display reads "U60 Cooling Fan" and the oven won't heat up. I can scroll through all the menus, but it won't DO anything. I can't find anything to tell me what that code means. The oven is only six months old -- please help! Thanks. Our new Dacor double oven arrived defective and had to be serviced to remove an error code right off the bat. After that, the coolling fan started to turn on when baking and made lots of noise - uncomfortable to even be in the vicinity of the oven (it was that loud). The serviceman says it is normal - Dacor is making the fan to keep the oven face cool. But - if that's the case - no way I want this product! Anyone have the same thing?

I have the same problem that the "U60 Colling Fan" message comes up and after that the oven is totally inoperative.

I called Dacor a long time ago, while our unit was still under waranty.

Dacor technician taught me a sequence of key-pads that clears the error.

We have been using that trick ever since.

Perhaps we should have schedules a service, but we didn't!!

Ali Bani, can you give us the key pad sequence that clears the problem? We had a power outage while the oven was on, and when power came back the U60 meaasge came up. I feel sure that the fan is OK, but we just need to reset the unit.

I got Dacor to give me the number sequence -- - push "cancel" and "#" at same time - when screen asks for "service ID" enter "S1234" (get "S" by pushing "7" 5 times) - screen will list "U60 Cooling Fan" as number 1, so select "1" - select "clear all", this should clear the error - hit "cancel" to get out of that screen
Hope this works for you! Best suggestion I have is DON'T BUY DACOR!! We also own their 30" dishwasher, which has been a nightmare experience as well.

This also works for other error messages. I cleared a L60 message also. this is a very good solution so please don't overlook it. Thanks JKJB

First, try to clear the code. To do this you must push and hold # and 'cancel' at the same time until the screen asks for an ID code. Then type in (using the key pad) S1234 (you get S by pressing 7 five times) Then simply press 'clear all' and the code should disappear.

If that doesnt work then pull the oven from the wall by removing the door and unscrewing the stainless steel trim. Pull the oven straight out and attatch the pull handles to pull it completely out. Next, place the oven on a secure stand (such as a milk crate). Then turn off the breaker to all electricity in your kitchen and confirm the power is off. Then, using a 'Torx' brand bit, take off the sheetmetal cover on top of the oven. Download a service manual to your oven and check power to the fan as described in the manual. You can find service manuals on the web (do not use owners manuals) Next, check power at the Hall effect sensor as described in the manual. You just need a volt-ohm meter to do these tests. The manual describes it well. If these tests confirm the fan is not defective, you need a relay board. Dacor part #101559. I got one for $165 last week from Dacor. 99% of the time this is the problem and the boards are even back-ordered. Dont be critical of Dacor, the ovens work well. My advice is just to buy the extended warranty when you get one. Like any high performance machine, they run well if cared for by experts.

I have a Dacor model MOV227S double oven. My serial number starts with "V-D-...". I called Dacor about this issue as I was having trouble finding the correct part number to order. The Dacor rep told me that for serial numbers with the "D" in that 2nd place (or later) the U60 error means that the cooling fan is bad, and that the relay board does not need to be replaced. He directed me to where I found my fan's part number 700508, and I ordered it. Glad I made the call. Dacor's number is 800-793-0093. They are in California.

With the service menu exposed, at least on my oven, I was able to run manual tests and hear that the upper cooling fan was not running, while I could hear the relays clicking. Similar menu for the lower oven, same test, clicking relays and that fan runs. So I am hopeful that the Dacor rep is correct.

I just hate pulling out the oven. It's heavy. I have to take off the back panel to get to and replace either of the cooling fans.

Good morning, the fan noise is probably the cooling fan in the control compartment. With an electric oven, it could be a resettable thermostat that tripped and needs to be reset. Or it could be a bad heating element. Display will display lot if it can't bring the oven temp up. Hope that helps.

Have a stoves 720 es main oven fan does not stay on to cool oven after switch off> also the oven will not trun back on when it is still hot or warm ? will

First things first. There are two fans. One in the bottom oven and one to provide background cooling. The background cooling fan turns on when anything is turned on. (Fan oven/top oven/grill). Just operate the top oven for a moment and this should cause the cooling fan to operate. There is a printed circuit board that controls the cooling fan and for how long the fan should stay on once everything has been turned off. (About 7 mins). If this fan is not running then the fan/motor could be faulty, or the circuit board or the resistor on the fan terminal block. The reason the oven will not turn back on is that the residual heat in the oven unit as a whole against the fan oven, is probably too high which causes the overheat device to operate.
You will have to take the oven out of the kitchen carcass, take the top and rear panels off and get an electrician to test and found out which item is not working/failed. Try espares for parts.

Oven stopped heating - F34 displayed.

You get F34 error because there is excess heat within the oven.
You need to clean the cooling fan for any debris or dust, if this does not solve the problem replace the cooling fan.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Im getting this message u60 cooling fan can some one tell me the meaning? Thanks

There is a small fan you should be able to hear blowing when the oven has been hot for a while. The fan keep the electronic controls cooler so they won't be damaged by the heat.

I have the the same problem as discribed above. Does you oven fan go on for a long time after you use your oven during regular baking. Mine seems to stay on for 45 minutes after I bake anything. Can this be all tied together with the f2 problem? I am wondering if it is not just a fan circulation problem?

Display reads U60 Cooling Fan - oven won't heat

The code is telling you that the oven has sensed a fault in the coling fan circuit of the upper oven. Dacor has had a few problems with the cooling fans in these new ovens since theyve been out, so most likely you will have a bad fan motor. If that is the case, be prepared to have the repair person have to pull the oven out of the wall to get to it and change it. If its a realy board problem (less likely) than that can be changed from the front. Call up Dacor and find an authorized servicer in your area since it will still be under warranty. Good Luck!
