Question about Toshiba 32A33 32" TV

1 Answer

I purchased several universal remotes in the last couple of weeks and they are not working with my Toshiba set. I did get one to work for a few days and now that one does not work any longer. The remote that did work for a couple of days is a Philips by using the first code on the list which was 0517. When this code failed I tried all the codes that came with the remote for the Toshiba.

Hello, you need to make sure what is broken, the remote control or the TV. To check the integrity of the remote control, you need to broadcast from the remote control while he aimed at the video camera. If you see a flicker of light through the camera it shows the integrity of the remote control. In this case the infrared receptor need to be replaced, he is placed near the stand by light.in a rare case the problem is at the 5v voltage that goes to the receptor. more rare is the possibility that something is wrong at the microprocessor circuit. . If the remote control out of order, can be opened carefully by a thin screwdriver, usually the causes to the error are loose components or contacts that are supposed to weld back into the board.

i hope it was helpful!! Let me know if you need further guidance

You can follow the option of searching the internet for any of several suppliers of OEM replacement remotes. The problem with universal remotes is that not all functions of the OEM remote are replicated.

I used all the codes for my toshiba tv

There were a few sets from various manufacturers that did not have a code published in some cases, You might find it fastest by doing a code search. However you may not get all features the remote or the set offer in this case. Plus there were a couple sets where the universal remotes did not work.

When I purchased this remote control a few weeks ago, I programmed it and it worked great! a few weeks later, it stopped working. So, I re-programmed it again. Will I need to re-program this remote control...

I would suggest contacting the Toshiba MR 120's manufacurer or the dealer from whom you bought it. Either one will likely exchange it for one that works if it's discovered that the problem is in the original manufacture, or they will check for programming gliches and fix the ones that exist. Either way, your remote should not be behaving that way, and one would like to think that a quality brand name like Toshiba will stand behind their products.

If you had a dimmer switch in conjunction with the fan you probably did burn it up. You have to have motor controls that are compatible. It does take a few days to burn it up. More details please.

Remote doesn't work

here's a tip to test all remotes

point it at your digital camera/webcam
although the human eye cannot see infared, your camera lense can
watch the monitor to check if its flashing.

also - if you have moved the set, perhaps something inside - such as a wire loom - has fallen in front of the infa red reciever? or it may just need the window cleaning

Universal remote codes

NOT A SOLUTION, however my remote stopped working a couple months ago. I subsequently tried several universal remotes - none of these worked. An educated guess might be that the problem is NOT with the remote control unit, but rather something inside the set itself. This might also explain why the MW24FM1 you bought "didn't come with a remote".
