Question about Sony XPLOD CDX-GT200 CD Player

1 Answer

My boyfriend hooked up my speakers in my car to my cdx-gt200, now my cd player wont even come on. He never touched any of the connection wires for the player. At first he could not find the remote turn on wire to hook the speakers up to, so he hooked it up to the left front speaker wire, then found the remote turn on wire and hooked it up to it. i reallly dont think that is the reason why my cd player wont work now. How could we fix this problem?

are you using an amplifier?? if not, there is not reason to use the remote turn on wire. if he connected the remote turn on wire to a speaker directly, he probably damaged your cd player and it will have to be repaired professionally.

Change the fuse behind the system.
"so he hooked it up to the left front speaker wire, then found the remote turn on wire and hooked it up to it." will have burned the sound system or not. remove the new installation, test it, reinstall, test again.

Sony XPLOD CDX-GT200 CD Player keeps going back to demo mode

This is happeneing because the stereo does not have a battery power connections. The yellow wire is for a constant 12 volt connection. This connection is for the stereo's memory.

My sony explod cd for my car wont power on everything is hooked up and it will eject the cds but nothing else..what do i do?

check the radio fuse on your car most likely its bad. If you pull out the radio the red wire should have power when the key is turned on and if not you have a fuse problem

I need a color code for a Sony Xplod CDX-GT23W.

Guessing that you don't still have the owners/install manual.

On the back of the head unit there should be a group of unused/unconnected wires (with any luck they will be marked), one or more might be an amp turn-on or power antenna lead, so I suggest (with the unit turned on) testing each wire with a DC voltage tester so as to identify and separate any leads supplying 12+ volts. the remaining group will consist of speaker leads. Trial and error testing will determine the proper L & R rear speaker leads.

Good luck
