Right click on your desktop and select display on the Settings tab, then on Identify - when another monitor is recognized, you can enable it in that window.
Unless you're using a mac. If you are, get back to me :)

Dell Dimension 2400 manual

Unless your TV has a VGA socket (it should be blue, have many pins and look just like the one on your computer monitor,) and an audio-in jack (it'll look something like a 3.5mm headphone jack,) you cannot connect the PC to your TV without other accessories. If it DOES have those ports though, just buy a two-ended headphone cable and an SVGA connector cable (unless you can use the one from your computer monitor,) from, hook them up, hit 'input' on your remote with both TV and PC on and you're in business! Best of luck with it!

How do i connect my laptop to my dynex tv?

This depends on your hardware. If you have HDMI port on your laptop and on your TV it is the best and easyest option for your case. Just plug-in the hdmi cable, go to your computer Control Panel->Display and configure the second monitor as extended. Your TV must be monitor number 2 and you should use recommended settings for the picture resolution.
From your TV go to input source list and select the HDMI port.
Now you should see your desktop background without the taskbar and icons. So you can drag and drop the application you want to see on your Dynex TV(secondary monitor) and that's it. This method will bring video and audio just with one cable. Of course you can use VGA port on the Tv, but the quality of the picture will drop and you must have separate cable for the sound.

How do i connect my dell computer(not A laptop) to my Sanyo 26 in LCD TV

Use the VGA cable which looks something like this.

On your TV is a port for this cable's connection, plug it in and the other end to a same port on the back of the computer.[just like the monitor's connected].

Hope it helps.Thanks!

I have an Acer aspire m3200. I tried to connect it to my hdtv, i got picture but no sound using the VGA cord, and got nothing using the HDMI cord. Please help

Using a vga cable to connect your laptop to a hdtv is very easy but the cable does not transfer the audio signal, you need another cable aswell. You need a 3.5mm jack to jack cable, one end plugs into your headphone socket on your laptop and the other end plugs into the pc audio socket at the back of your tv (usually next to where you plug in the vga plug).

All my wires in my monitor r unhooked where they go can you tell me.

If your wires are unhooked, Usually new monitors wires are colour coded , for example, blue to blue, yellow to yellow etc.
If your wires are not colour coded, There is only one way the wires can go, They won't fit just anywhere. If they fit into one connector, then that will be where it needs to go.

Hope this helps

Where are the video and audio outs on my pc

The easiest and cheapest way is to purchase a cable called VGA to RCA below is the picture of it. You will connect the vga end to your computer where the computer monitor would plug in at. Then you will need a rca cable and run the yellow end from the vga to rca cable to the yellow input on your tv. Then you will have 2 cable left a white and red one, Then you will need to purchase a headphone to rca chord which is also shown below and you will plug that into where your speakers on the computer are plugged into (Usually the green spot) and then connect the white and red cable to it and then to the back of your tv. Once all that is setup then just turn on your computer and your tv and set you tv to the correct video input and your computer will be on your tv. Hope this helps you.843da49.jpg

system not fully installed is an interesting one. does it do this all teh time when you reboot now? with or without the monitor connected?

I show on monitor "no signal" Check Signal Cable

Check that the "data" cable between your computer and your monitor is tightly connected at each end.

Connect the VGA-output port from a laptop computer to the monitor, to see if the monitor works when connected to a different computer.

Connect a different monitor to the VGA-output port on your computer, to see if that monitor works.

Failing all the above, the video-card on your computer is the problem, and needs to be replaced.

Hi,how do I know wheather I need DVI or VGA cables to connect CPU to a Monitor.I sold monitor when I got laptop now I want set up the Dell Dimension 3100 as aback up,so I'm looking at wide sreen monitors...

Most of the Widescreen monitors come with DVI as well as VGA connector. A VGA connector and DVI connectors are different in many aspects. First of all the DVI connector would be white in color and VGA would be blue.
VGA connector has 15 pins and DVI has 24 +1 pin

You need to get a VGA to <whatever tv input you want> for example a vga to rca component cable, or a VGA to HDMI cable, etc. You can purchase these online.
