Question about D-Link RangeBooster G WBR-2310 Wireless Router (WBR2310)

I have a 2310 router, and it has worked well for 3 years. Now, I can't connect to the internet through the router. I have bypassed the router and I can connect to the internet, but I still suspect that the problem is with my ISP since, in bypassing the router, the connection to the internet has been temperamental. Is there any way I can test my router to see if it is faulty? Could I have reconnected it incorrectly when troubleshooting with my ISP? HELP, please!! -- jamaicajoe

Since you have had your router for 3 years it is possible that it is on its last leg. I know the one I have at home is needing to be replaced as I am having to reboot it every couple of days.

The easy way to test the router is to reconfigure it like when you first got the router. Now looking over your manual it look like the setup process is the same as one that I did the other day.

    Thanks, Issken. Your solution did not work, but I did take the router over to my friend, and he hooked it into his system, and it worked; so, it's not that the router is defective. I then took it back and hooked it up on my system, and IT WORKED! So, I'll be paying very close attention to my ISP's performance in the future. -- J.

Try power cycling the router.
Disconnect the router from all computers. Power off the router. Power on the router. Reconnect the router to all computers. Check the Internet connectivity.

I have a WBR-2310 D-Link wireless router. Yesterday it started not getting the signal from the Comcast cable modem. I can connect the cable modum direct to this computer and it works fine. But the gold...


If ever I have had a problem with my D-Link I have contacted them directly and they have solved it over the phone for me. There is an initial answer message that states that you MAY be charged $40 for the help ... but I have never been charged. It is a brilliant service.

Who is you ISP? if you're using cable connection follow these steps:

1. Connect modem to WAN port of the WBR-2310
2. Connect computer to port 1 of the WBR-2310
3. Open web browser (IE, firefox,chrome,safari), and type in 192.168.0.1 into your address bar
4.Into the log-in page username:admin password: (none)
5.click on "SETUP"
6. Click on "MANUAL CONFIGURE"
7..in the Internet connection type, make sure that it must be in DYNAMIC IP DHCP
8. Click on CLONE YOUR PC's MAC ADDRESS button(notice that mac address will change after you click on that button)
9. Click on SAVE settings now and it will count down click on Continue after that
10. Then Try to ACCESS Internet

/... but if still you cannot access Internet try to power cycle the modem and the router.. follow these steps also

1. turn off bothe modem and router (just unplug the power cord)
2. after 1 minute, TURN ON first the modem,
3. after 1 minute again, TURN ON the router
4. after 1 minute try to access Internet

But if still no Internet connection, please look for the brand of your modem if it is speedstream 5100 or hugesnet or actiontec modem because those modem have the same IP address with your DLINK router and you need to change the IP address of your DLink then....

Will the WBR-2310 work with my wireless internet service. I don't have DSL or Cable or Satellite. I have a wireless service from a local provider.


Hi,

YES but you need a computer which will bypass your internet service from computer to router and then any wireless computer or any WAN enable device will access internet.

Share your wireless internet to Ethernet and connect with cable to router. WAN is now working.

But remember to configure your WLAN Router.

First: Connect your computer directly to the ADSL modem. It has an Ethernet port.
If you can't get to the Internet while your computer is connected directly to the modem, then ytour router never will either. Call ISP if you can't connect to the Internet when directly conencted to the modem.
Next: Check your router wires again, The modem must be connected to the "special" port on the router. Look at the router. There is one port separated from the rest. Connect the modem to that port. Conenct to the Internet.
Still no Internet?
Reset your router by pushing a stylus (straightened-out paperclip) into the reset "hole" on the router (with router powered ON).
Push & hold for 30 seconds or until the lights do their reset dance. Connect to the INternet.

Try to open the ports of the XBox to the EBR-2310 router.

Ports of the XBox: TCP 80, 3074 and 53
UDP 88, 3074 and 53

You'll needing to access the configuration page of the router (192.168.0.1) and open the ports under port forwarding.

Dlink WBR 2310 cannot connec to internet


Try to bypass the router and connect to your modem. Make sure you have Internet connection.
>If you have Internet connection. connect back your modem to the router.
>access the configuration page of your router.
>If you are given a specific IP by your Internet Service Provider, use that one.
>Login to your Dlink (type in on the address bar 192.168.0.1)
>Click Setup and Internet > Click on Manual Configure
>My Internet connection would be Static IP
>Type in your IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary and Alternate DNS
>Click on Save Setting on top.

but if your Internet Service Provider did not provide you those informations
> Under My Internet connection Type choose DYNAMIC IP
>Click on Clone Your PC MAC address
>Click on Save Settings
>If it ask you to reboot, click on Reboot.

>At the very top click on Status
>Under Status look for WAN
>Under WAN look for IP address
>If you have values beside from zero it means you have Internet connection otherwise, call your dlink manufacturer for manual configuring your router for Internet connection.

Follow these steps:
1.Type 192.168.1.1 in Internet Explorer.
2.You might have to put Admin password to access the router which is usually admin and password field blank.
3.Go to wireless setting and change the password.
