Unfortunately, you'll need to restore your iPod Touch, which means you'll lose all the data off of it, and you'll need to resync it.

Here's how to do it:
Plug your iPod Touch into your computer.
Open iTunes
Press and hold both the sleep/wake button (on the top of the iPod) and home button (on the front, below the screen) at the same time for about 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
Once you see the Apple logo, let go of *just* the sleep/wake button (on top), but keep holding the home button down until the iPod totally reboots.
iTunes should recognize the iPod Touch.

Click on the iPod Touch in iTunes, then click on the Summary tab (along the top), then click "Restore".

Hope this helps!

I for got the passcode for my ipod toch and it finally told me to plug it in and hasnt worked since . told me it is disabled

Hi ericamaebell...

If you have forgotten the code, you can unlock the IPod by doing the following:
Connect your IPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one IPod synced with), and open iTunes.
When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked.
If you can't unlock IPod using either [the code or connecting it to the computer you use to manage its songs]. . . you can restore your iPod to factory settings using iPod Updater. Please note that this will erase all data on your iPod.
Afterwards, you can add your music and data back to your iPod.
If you want to change the primary computer that your IPod is associated with, do this:
1. Restore your iPod. WARNING: The restore process cannot be undone.
All of your songs and files will be deleted. Always make a backup of your important data.
2. Connect your iPod to the computer that you want to be the primary computer.
3. Open iTunes and synchronize.
If you can't unlock your iPod and you don't have access to the primary computer, your only option is to restore the IPod, which will erase all music and data."

My ipod toch doesnt recognize my password, how do i reset the password?

What most likely has happened is that you or someone was trying to access your iPod and tried to enter a passcode to get in. After a certain amount of tries, your iPod will disable itself. Here's how you can get it back.

Step 1: Turn on your computer, and connect your iPod to your computer with the USB cable that came with your iPod.

Step 2: Open up iTunes on your computer.

Step 3: In iTunes, go to the left side of your screen and scroll down, when you see your iPod, select it.

Step 4: You should now see on the right side of your screen some general iPod information. Scroll down to until you see a "Restore" button.

Step 5: Hit Restore, and wait for a few minutes. THIS WILL WIPE EVERYTHING THAT WAS IN YOUR IPOD AND RESYNC IT WITH EVERYTHING THAT IS IN YOUR ITUNES LIBRARY.
This is the only working method known.

Changed passcode -- ipod touch 8gb

Hi,

It seems that you will have to restore you ipod touch i'm afraid! So, i hope you have your things backed up.

Ok the steps to take are:

1) Connect the iPod Touch
2) Press and hold sleep+home until the device reboots.
3) Keep holding until that "please connect me to iTunes"-screen appears
4) iTunes says something about having detected a touch in recovery mode. Allow it to do its thing.

If you get the -18 error, proceed:

5) Disconnect the iPod Touch
6) Close iTunes
7) Reconnect the iPod Touch
8) iTunes launches and shows message as in step 4, but this time, the recovery will work

Hope this helps,

Karlos
