Question about Kodak EASYSHARE Z1285 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Kodak Z 1285 shut down while transferring pics - Won't start up.

I was downloading pictures from my Kodak Z1285 to my computer when an unknown error occurred and the camera shut down completely. Since that time the camera will not turn back on with or without the memory card. Is there some way to reset the camera?

My Z1285 won't upload pictures onto my computer. It used to do it ok. Could I have a driver problem? If so, how do I get a current driver?

You can get the current Kodak software from
http://support.en.kodak.com/app/home/selected/true
Click on the "Downloads and Drivers" link on the right.

You might want to consider NOT using a driver. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Have a SDHC 8gb Kodak card that won't format in Z1285

It's suggested that you use any SD Memory Card formatting Software to format the SD memory card. You can download any such Software from the address given below:
https://eww.pavc.panasonic.co.jp/support/jp/sd/sdfv2003.exe

Download the software from the above link and install in your computer and then format the memory card using it. After formatting the memory card, insert it in your Camera and use it normally.

Get a separate card reader and use it to download your pics to your computer. Then, format the card in the camera. 6153108.jpg

Kodak 1285 will not stay on

Fixing your problem could be as simple as cleaning the battery contacts in the camera, or the solution could be a lot more complex and expensive. Here's a link to the Kodak Help Center - it provides a simple Q&A format to diagnose the problem and propose a solution.

How to transfer pictures from camera to computer?

Your camera should either have a USB cord that will connect it to the computer or your computer may have a memory card reader. Plug either one into your computer and goto the My Computer Icon either located on your desktop or in your start button and your camera shoud be listed in there as a new drive. If you are using an operating system older than Windows XP then you may need to download the drivers from the manufaturers website.
