I'll be honest, there's a lot of things that could cause this problem. It's hard to diagnose with just the information you provided.
What I can tell you is you will need to replace parts to find out if it's an issue with the motherboard or something else. I know it's a pain but it's the only way to diagnose at home. you should start by switching out the monitor cable and monitor if possible or try yours on another comp. Next move the vid card to another slot if possible unless it's pci express and your limited to one slot. Next is to pick up a cheap vid card at a comp store (used) and try that.

Try what you can and if possible provide me so more details.
Hope this helps.

Try checking the memory modules, try cleaning them (the pins) with a soft cloth, then try it back again, then try again powering the pc, if it doesnt do the trick, try next cleaning the or checking the video card if your pc has one, also try operating the pc without the video card or the memory module, i guess after performing that two suggestion you will find the error that causes your pc to have a black screen

Display screen not ligthing up

Confirm voltage at the wall outlet and then move onto the voltage output from the power supply. The power from the wall outlet should be 110V AC. The voltage output from the power supply should be 12-14V DC. If these both check out as good readings, move up to the console to confirm 12-14V DC. If the console is getting power and still not coming on. then you need a new console.

It will on but not showing anything on the screen

Check your power supply using some multi-meter and also ensure that output voltages are exactly equal to prescribed voltages.

Power light is blinking and the tv won't power up.

In that case the problem of your television is the power supply. The power supply have low voltage output so that the board of your TV cannot drive,so that the TV wont turn on.The power supply have leak capacitor that may cause of abnormal voltage. The output voltage of the power supply is +5V, +12V, and +24V.So the power supply is the problem its need to repair. Thanks

My lcd flat screen displays black and gray lines with no picture and sound

check your power supply use a voltage tester make sure your power supply has a 5v,12v,24v output. If no voltage is present replace the power supply.

My computer won't turn on and when I plug it in the charging light won't come on

Please check the adpter output voltage with multimeter in DC mode.
If output voltage is good then check any contact problem of the power jack with laptop dc jack for proper contact.

Try to power on with only ac power supply by removing the battery.

Virea tv has just stopped working. Whilst watching it has switched itself off and there is no standby light or anything. All power cords and supplies are fine but it won't switch back on.

Good day!Follow this D.I.Y procedures to find the exact problem of your TV.
  1. Remove the back cover of your TV.
  2. After that, find the power supply board.
  3. If you already found the power supply,plug-in your TV and power it ON.Check the input voltage of it,using multimeter (AC range). If the power supply have no input voltage the problem could be the power cord.Replace it.
  4. If the power supply have the input voltage, try to test the output voltage if have 5vdc for the system and logic supply,12vdc for the sounds and 24vdc for the back-light inverter.Use your multimeter tester (DC range) to test that.
  5. If the power supply have a voltage outputs such as 5vdc,12vdc and 24vdc and the problem is still there. The problem could be the main board.Replace it with the same type and model # because the main board is no very difficult to fix and its very sensitive.
  6. If the power supply have no output voltage or the voltage is too low, just ignore the step # 5 because the problem is not on the main board, its on the power supply board.
Check the following to fix the power supply board:
  • Fuse: Check the fuse if it is busted or blown.
  • Power transistor (regulator): Check the regulator if it is shorted or leak.
  • Resistor: Check the resistors specially the one that have a low resistance that near the power regulator.
  • Capacitor: Also check the capacitors if it is leak or bulging top.
NOTE: If you found any defective parts or components that mention above replace it with the same value, type and ratings.

I hope this solution will be helpful.Thank you and good luck.

My vizio tv won"t come

Hi,

That problem is 2 causes, its either power supply or system board.
This are some D.I.Y procedure for troubleshooting.

  1. Open the back cover by removing all screws at the back.
  2. Try to look at the power supply board and find the leak/bulge on top capacitors. If you found, replace it with the same type and ratings.
  3. If the power supply doesn't have any leak capacitors.Try to power it ON to perform voltage checking.
  4. Check the output voltage of power supply such as 5vdc,12vdc and 24vdc by using voltmeter. If this 3 supplies having a voltage drop or flickering voltage while on power ON.Check the following parts on the power supply, change value/open resistor, shorted transistor and diode or repeat step # 2.
  5. When the output voltage is stable and all parts looks OK.The problem could be on system board.Unfortunately the system board or main board is not for D.I.Y because the parts inside is very logic and very sensitive. That is replaceable.

Thank you and good luck.

My Mitsubishi laptop seems to be working but the screen remains dark. I cannot, therefore see anything on the screen. Thanks for your help, Obed

Try attaching an external monitor to the laptop & see if you could get any display on it. If this is successful, then you might have either a faulty LCD cable or screen inverter board.
The LCD cable transfers data signal from the motherboard & video card to the LCD screen. It also supplies high voltage DC power to the screen inverter board. The screen inverter board works as a power supply for the backlight lamp mounted inside the LCD screen. It converts low voltage DC power to high voltage AC power needed for the backlight lamp.

Display on and off

that problem is very common on a viewsonic tv.you need to open the back cover of your tv by removing the four screw.you can immediately see the power supply of your tv after the cover is remove..It is a small pc board where the ac power cord is connected..First using a multitester measure the output voltage of the power supply.the output must be 5v for cpu,12v for sound and 24v for the inverter board.this inverter board is the one responsible for illuminating the screen of your tv...if the output are complete,,replace the converter board..if one voltage output of the power supply is missing replace the power supply board...g

good luck!hope i help you...
please vote for my help tnx..

My pandigital frame no longer displays anything. You plug it in and it's a blank screen

If you have an all grey screen than the frame is dead --- which menas throw it away. Check voltage on the power supply. Make sure voltage matches the output on the power supply. Also try connecting it tto the computer and formatting the internal memory.
