Question about Pioneer PDP-4360HD 43 in. Plasma Television

1 Answer

PDP-436PG I just scored a PDP-436PG from an electronics recycle drop-off. After getting it home I noticed that there is a Media Receiver and cable that goes with this. After investigation, I found that this 436PG is likely a European model that somehow made it here to the US. But I cannot find what Media Receiver corresponds with the PDP-436PG. What I am wondering...will the PDP-R06U Media Receiver work with the PDP-436PG...AND...will this "combo" work on US cable? OR...can I use ANY Media Receiver with the PDP-436PG?? Though, even after I find a useable Media Receiver, then I have to figure out what is apparently wrong with this Plasma. The screen is not cracked, so I hope it is just something not too drastic to repair.

That is what I am asking, what is the corresponding Media Receiver for the PDP-436PG? If I can obtain the correct Media Receiver for this TV, then I can at least test the TV. But I could not even get Pioneer to verify that I could not use any of the Media Receivers to get this TV to function properly. Yes, I assume that you need the corresponding Media Receiver for proper functionality. But what would happen if I used the 'improper' one? Can anyone verify with certainty, or is it just an assumption that it will not work?

Ok, I got word back from Pioneer in South America. They say that the PDP-436PG is the screen that was purchased with the PDP-436HD package. And the corresponding Media Receiver for this screen is the PDP-R06G. They did not tell me either way that another Media Receiver would or would not work with this screen. Just that the corresponding Media Receiver is the PDP-R06G.

I also found that the PDP-436HD [PDP-436PG Screen] is the NON-US, NON Japanese & NON-European model. So that would leave area's such as South America, Australia, Other Asian Countries, etc...for this to be marketed to.

Now I just have to find a PDP-R06G Media Receiver! Anyone want to sell me one???? ;-)

Maybe its not worth the effort. the media or turner box must corsponed with the model of the pioneer tv, in order to work.

well the only thing i'm sure is that the PDP506 hdg or pg
is the same system as the PDP436 hdg or pg. and the media center will work for either.

PDP - 436PG display turns off then straight off and the red standby flashes 3 times, pauses then repeats

That is an error code that likely means power supply issue and based on brand not likely to be a do it yourself fix. Consider having a authorized Pioneer service center look at it and get an estimate.

Have DPD 503PU Pioneer Plasma Display TV. There is no place to place cable cord and there are two cords missing, one gray and one white. Can you tell me what these cords plug into and where to get o

This may be the PDP 503PU. There are supposed to be two parts to the unit; you appear to have the Display but not the media receiver and the standard accessories for the receiver.

The media receiver has the inputs for coaxial cable and component video. The gray and white cables are the system cables which feed the signal from the receiver to the display. Most of the on-line sources that I deal with do not have the system cables in stock.

The manual for the unit is available from Pioneer: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pio/pe/vgn/images/portal/cit_11221/50019PDP5030_4330_2002411152202500.pdf .

This unit should go to an E-waste recycling agency, IMO. Without the receiver and the system cables, it's useless. I wish that I had better news for you.

Bom dia!

If you mean DVB-T signal then you will need an extra box to receive this via a normal antenna if your media receiver does not support digital free-to-air (I don't know your model because I am not familiar with non-european types). At the moment I don't think anybody transmits HD on terrestrial digital. Satellite TV can provide HD transmission.

Can I use media receiver PDP-R04U with PDP-436PU display?

You need the pioneer media cables hooked up to the media receiver to the plasma unit itself. each end has 2 different plugs. one has 2 thumb screws and the other is a squeezable end that clicks into place. They MUST be on before you plug in any power what so ever!!!! And yes, other information is being passed through.
