Dell Monitor E193FPC turns off by itself every few minutes. After it turns off the power button flickers from green to orange.To get it to turn on I have to press the power button a few times. My computer is fine, I tested another Dell Monitor E193FP on it and there are no problems. I checked all the cables and connections and reset the monitor back to factory settings, but problem continues. The self test is fine and I get the floating image for it on the screen. Please help. I can't afford another monitor now. Thanks =)

Probable power supply failure

separate wiring. touching wires creates cross-talk of signals.

You have to check the ESR in tha caps in power supply with esr meter.
If you dont have one just replace all capacitors in the power section(there are severals of them)This is the simptom of low esr in the capacitors.
Return the monitor in factory settings.

Try another Monitor

check the power supply and rem or proccesor

You can verify that it is the inverter going out by turning the monitor on in a dark room and shining a light directly into the screen. If you cannot see anything, then something has happened to the power circuit. Perhaps the solder on the power port has gone bad, and needs to be redone, or part of the circuit board fried. The only way to figure this out is to open it up and take a look-see. If you don't wish to try this, you can always take it to a shop and have them look at it. Be careful opening it, the inverter is high voltage. Don't have any power going to the monitor if you do this.

You are suggested to check if you serial cable is in fine condition and it properly pluged into the Monitor and VGA. and do also try changing the serial cable .

Probably a failing power supply

Looks like your inverter board is broken.
