Hi Allyson/All
I have a very good resolution to fix this issue of our Printer OJ 5610 AIO.

You can isolate this issue by making a copy on the printer on stand alone , if its normal than you can try step 1,2.
If the copy is slow too , then please try step 3.

1.If its just printing from the computer then you can go ahead and print with the generic driver.

Click Start > control panel > Printers and Faxes > click on add a printer > select printer port as USB > while it gives a list of manufacturer and printer models , make sure you select the printer as HP Deskjet 990c and finish the add printer wizard.
if that helps you you can rename the printer icon as HP Officejet 5610 Copy 1.
Note : if its the same issue for win 7 operating system then you can select the printer as officejet 6500 from the printers list...(as we did deskjet 990c in win XP/Vista)

2.Click Start > control panel > Printers and Faxes >right click on the printers icon > click on properties > then on the tab at the top click on advanced > Put a check on the option which says Print directly to the printer , then Apply and OK.

3.If printing along with copying is very slow then you can try this step.
to do this the printer has to be connected to the computer with the usb cable .
You can go to HP.COM and update the firmware of the printer.

Hope this resolves your issue .
Thanks and enjoy printing

Very slow printing - HP 5610 all in one

Very simple solution: The cartridges still have ink in them but printing is very slow. Remove the cartridges from the printer. Take a wet paper towel and wipe the print head on each one until the ink flows from each head. Usually it is the color cartridge because it is used less than the black one. Once ink is flowing again, reinsert the cartridges into the printer and your normal printing speed will return. This worked for me, no thanks to the "experts" or trouble shooting guides.
