SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

Need to disable the date stamp on my General Electric A1050

Use the Date Imprint option in the Still menu. Your choices are "Off", "Date", and "Date and time". Select the first.
Full details are in the "Date Imprint" section of the manual (page 58 in my copy).

I dont have the installation disc for my ge a1050 to upload videos. how/where can i get this?

Hi. Does your camera come with a memory card? A much easier way to transfer your files to the computer is by using a memory card reader. These are cheap and is an easy way to connect your card to the pc. First just take out the memory card from the camera, insert it in the memory card card and then connect to computer. You will see the contents of your memory card and you can easily copy and paste the files without the need to install the software for your camera. It also saves battery since you will not be turning the camera on when you copy pictures and videos. :)

How do I upload pictures from my A1050 camera to a computer?

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

I don't know how to delete the pictures off my GE A1050 camera, can you help

There is an option depending on what operating system you are using, where you can place a check mark in a box that will do it for you automatically whey you upload the pictures to your computer. Also you can do it manually by getting into "my computer" or "computer" (again depending on the OS) and while the camera data cable is plugged into the computer, and the camera is on, the camera/memory card should show up with a varying file name with all of your pics in it. Either delete the entire folder or the pics inside. Hope this helps.

Ge a1050 problems

In my opinion, send the camera back for a refund or get a replacement.
This is more than likely a problem in the camera.
If you have damaged the camera, with either an impact of some sort, or other damage such as water or dirt, you may not be covered by their warranty.
