Question about Coralife Zilla Aqualight Power Center

1 Answer

I am having problems setting up coralife aqualight power center

I cant seem to set up correctly so that my fish tank lights turn on in the early evening at 6:00 PM and turn off at 12:00 AM. I plugged in the lights to the first blue outlet and I set the timers to turn on at 6 and turn off at 12. Where should I set the mode button to? I have the mode button on off so that the blue outlets are powered on when the timer should start. Need Help! Please try and help me resolve this. Thanks and have a good day. I only need one timer to work which is to turn my lights on at 6 and turn them off at 12.

Sincerely,

Ed

You need to plug them into the two yellow outlets, not the blue ones. The blue outlets are for night lights if you have them. Set the timer for 6 and stop at 12am. If you plug them into the two yellow outlets they should go on at 6 and turn off at 12, however If you also plug something into the blue outlets they will turn on as soon as the yellow outlets turn off, it's sopposed to switch from your day lights to your night moon lights automatically provided you got the moon lights plugged in the blue outlets. Hope this helps....

I dropped half my light in the tank should it still work if I dry it out?

Usually yes, completely dry. Open up if you need to and blow with hair dryer...but let it sit 24 hours to be sure.

Power Center day/night timer

I would use two timers for this rather than the Zilla, but you could put the moon lights into the second timer set on for short periods before and after the white lights, then plug the white lights into the day outlets and set the timer to have them on for the five hours.

With digital Zilla timer, you can set from 1 to 7 programs.
You can set one program, and that's it, or set 2 programs or 3.
Up to 7.

The yellow outlets are controlled for 12 hours, and you can determine when those hours occur when setting current time.

My Coralife aquarium lamp does not turn on once it is turned off.... until the next day. Other times it seems fine.

The timer doesn't know what time it is until you set current time.

If you want timer to control one lamp with both day and night schedules, you have to adjust current time setting so lamp schedule falls within a 12 hour period. If that schedule doesn't fit, then buy a second timer.

Coralife power center timer does not switch off and on

Aqualife Aqualight Power Center with Lighting/Wavemaker Timers is a Bullsh*t product. Can't use the wavemaker and the timer at the same time. Had the same problem as you tonight, and started to research. Saw this page: http://www.marineandreef.com/Coralife_Aqualight_Power_Center_Timer_p/res01691.htm

See the comment: "NOTE: The Aqualight Power Center Timer can be used EITHER as a light timer or a wavemaker, not for both." Well, the website I bought from didn't mention that either, nor does the manual.

Unplug one set (the lights or wavemaker), turn off and on, and the timer will work again. Worked for about four days with both sets, and maybe it will again after resetting, but overall, either just a stupid way to design a product, or a deceptive way of making people think their getting two timers in a powerstrip, and then making them buy another timer. Hope potential victims of this scam see this review.
