Question about Ovens
I have a older sears/kenmore double wall oven the upper works the lower one doesn't heat. i turn on the knob on and nothing happens. the oven light works. i thought it might be the thermo sensor but not sure after i saw how much they wanted for one. anyway to be sure this is what is wrong with it?
First put the oven timer on manual position, then turn on to see if there is heat.
If no heat yet, open covers and check the fuse inside of the oven.
you may be able to access it from the front or you may have to remove it from the wall cabinet.
The only other problem would be the on/off switch.
You may also want to try turning on the top element(in broil mode).
If it works then I would say the bottom element is burned out.
Use of the bottom element for baking is much greater than broil, and can burn out faster.
Let me know if this helps.
