Question about Compaq Evo N1020V PC Notebook
My laptop (evo N1020v) will not turn on. It was working fine, but now won't turn on at all. I'm not sure if it is a charging problem, as when the mains adaptor is plugged in, the light only stays on for a few seconds and then goes off again.
How can I tell if its the ac adaptor or the lap top?
Check if the AC power adapter can operate the notebook when the battery is removed. Do a normal shutdown of the PC. Remove the battery from the Notebook. Connect the power adapter and press the Power button to start the notebook. If the PC does not start and operate normally, the AC adapter is defective and must be replaced. If the PC does start and operate normally, the AC adapter is working properly If the notebook does not start with ac adapter and keeps flashing the lights only then we need to know how many blinks are flashing. Please check the following LED blink codes and the link below to solve the issue with your laptop. First you need to determine how many blinks you are getting when you try to power on the laptop. Try another AC Adapter with the battery taken out of the laptop. If the light still blinks then that means the motherboard is bad and would need to be replaced.
