I have a onkyo stereo double cassettetape deck r1--it has a plug for a mic on the frount panel but I can not get it to work-i must be really dumm

The mic input on some units is just a one or two transistor circuit and the non use of the Mic connector for a long time can result in the contacts being tarnished. Also you need to use a Dynamic mic that has the appropriate connector. Some people buy adapters for mics and give no thought that the adapter is wrong. So there are a lot of things that can be stopping the mic input from working. Also you need to have the unit is record pause mode to see the input type signal most of the time.

Just plug a mic into the mic input or the mixer into the line input. Watch your levels!

Hi, i would like to know if it is possible to plug in a microphone to a samsung home theather.

Model unknown? Probably not unless it has a MIC input somewhere. Or your microphone has an amplifierthat raises it to Line Level so it could coenct to any analog audio input EXCEPT PHONO.

How to make my co3 mic work

You will need a pre amp that supplies whats called phantom power which is power that feeds the mic .. This will come from either mixers [small cheap ones..but check it has XLR mic input with phantom power] or from a stand alone pre amp or audio interfaces with built in inputs for mics with phantom power.. Also you will need an XLR mic lead..Buy a good one with neutrik plugs or similar..

I buy a microphone, and I don't now where I have to plug it in, I's called i Carly Microphone, do I need something extra to use it, im trying to plug it in an guitar amplifier...

does it have a cable for it? it should. if it does then just plug it into the amp input jack. there is probably an on/off switch on the mic. i dont know if this is a fixed mic cable or if it is XLR type input on the mic. If there is a place for a cable to plug into the mic at the base of the handle, see if there are 3 pins in the jack of the mic. if so it is XLR, and the amp is 1/4inch so you would need a cable with XLR to 1/4"male. I would go with no shorter than 12 feet, but try to go with 20 to have enough room to move around. Hope that helps.

Ipod input for sa-eh760

You can plug the Ipod into the mic input , to do test recording. But the result wont be great.

To listen the Ipod in your stereo you should plug the Ipod into the Auxiliary input on the stereo.

Naturally you do not need any dvd.

Trying to use a microphone but not sure how to hook it up

No because the mic is a signel in device and the headphone jack is a signal out jack! meaning if you plug the mic into it the mic will act as a speaker and music will come out of it and ruin it!
I would buy an adapter at radio shack and plug it into the phono input on the back of unit! and if you dont have a phono input you will need to buy a small pre-amp and plug it into the aux or tape input!
That will work!

Thank You!

Vocal mic

You can plug a mic into the front H input on the 2488, but depending on the type of mic you may get a weak signal. The typical voice mic is low-Z (low impedence) and the instrument input (H) on the front of the 2488 is High-Z. A high-Z input is expecting the relatively higher voltage put out by a high-Z mic (or passive guitar pickup). On the other hand there are high-Z mics out there and most computer mics are high-Z. These produce the voltage that a high-Z input is expecting.

If however your mic is low-Z you will get a weak signal on the high-Z (front H) input on the 2488. You should in this case connect an impedance matching adapter between the mic and the input. It steps up the voltage of the mic, giving it a stronger signal.

To tell what impedence (Z) you mic is use the following to match the rated ohms on your mic with the impedence:

low-Z = 150-300 ohms
medium-Z = 600-2000 ohms
high-Z = 10,000 ohms or more

If you already have a high-Z mic you can plug it into the front H input directly. For a high-Z mic plugging it into any of the other low Z inputs on the back will produce a distorted signal.

Hope this helps.

Distortion sound

turn down the gain at the mic pre, first plug in the mic then put the channel fader at optimum level, the 0 mark, then use the mic gain adjustment at the mic pre to set the level on the channel/ input meter, if recording using a digital platform keep the level as high as possible without going into red at all on the channel/ input meter, use the master fader to adjust listening volume and use the channel fader to make fine adjustments if needed but the point is to primarily use the mic gain knob to adjust the input level. If you are recording a loud instrument or cabinet with it then you may want to use the pad on the mic or the pad on the console/ mixer if after going through the above steps the level at input is still too hot, should be a switch on the mic or console wich says pad, if the mic has one then use the one on the mic instead of the one on console.
