i know this is an old post for any others that have this problem maybe this will help.

Drop the mower deck and remove the plastic cover. loosen the tensioner on the belt until you can remove the belt completely. On the two cogs that turn the blades you will find an arrow. On the mower deck next to each cog you will also find a matching arrow. Align the arrows on the cog with the arrow on the mower deck and replace the belt. Once you have the belt tightened you can test it by turning the center pully. The blades should turn freely without hitting each other.

this is an easy fix that can be accomplished with just a few hand tools and very little mechanical skill. Don't pay the repair shop $100 to do something you can accomplish yourself in 20 minutes.

The right side blade is cutting way lower than the other 2 blades. Z500, Z series toro zero turn

Sounds like you hit something and damaged the blade. Look under the deck to make sure both blades are level and tight on the shaft.

I hit a metal pipe with my cub cadet zero turn lawn mower today. Now it smokes under the deck when I engage the blades and it is not cutting the grass. Have I ruined my mower?

You'll need to look under the deck w/ the mower not running and see why the blades aren't turning. Most likely something is bent (maybe blade) and hitting something. The smoke is probably from the belt slipping and getting hot.

When turning on pto blows the fuse

Look over the entire wiring harness wherever it may be touching metal as it probably is chaffed, simply tape and zip tie it away from the ground source.

The belt that drives the blades on my EZR 2048 broke and I picked up another belt but can't figure out how it wraps around the pulleys. Can you provide me with a diagram. Thanks Terry

Check out this link to get a copy of the documentation for your zero turn. I don't have enough info to get you the manual itself (model and serial number), so you're going to have to do this yourself. There should be a section on trouble shooting or maintenance that will explain what you need.

If this has helped please give me the appropriate thumbs up! Thanks and good luck!

Cub cadet rzt 50, hit stump, blades wont engage but not bent

The blades on this cub cadet are activated with air pressure. Chances are that when you hit that stump, you either blew a fuse or the control module that allows the blades to spin. Begin by checking the fuses. J.
