The red and blue projectors aren't aligned with the green projector. It is more sever towards the top of the screen. The green projector also has a curve in it at the top of the screen.

this is called convergence.
the set should normally have a function in the menu to adjust/reset this.
it sound like either the mirror in the tv is warped or the green lamp is out of alignment. if the convergence in the menu doent work then its a service job.

Hello tv has warped bottom and top screen on a rear projector samsung and blurred vision with red, green blue colurs not aligned tried to tune to no avail Samsung rear projector tantus sp42w4/42w5

The colors tell me of a convergence IC issue, warped bottom and top tell of another.

see this page on reparing the convergence problem yourself
http://cmpalmer.blogspot.com/2006/11/fixing-my-own-tv-part-ii.html

also compair the before and after pictures to see if this is the other problem your having.

Then you have another fault, which im not completely sure of right now. I will look into it.

If the lines are slightly curved and stationary on about 2/3 of the screen its either the Blue CRT or the Blue CRT drive board which is having the problem.

Picture is OK, but colors are off and there is a blue star background that shows on dark colors.

Hello, With most rear projections there is usually an alignment to do with the set up with your TV. This is so the red, blue and green projectors align together to give the correct colouring. This sounds to me what may be causing the outlining of the blue. This can also make it seem off colour. Look in the set up menu of the tv and see if you can find this alignment feature. Usually a cross will appear and you move a blue, red, and green cross with the arrows on your remote to align over the original white one. If this does not work, it may also mean that one of your projectors, that is the red, blue or green one may be failing causing the off colouring. Hopefully this alignment may fix it for you.

Problem with a colour display on Hisense tv

If your picures are all purple it means that the green colour is missing. TV colour is made up by mixing Red, Green & Blue. Removing Green leaving Red & Blue makes purple. Study the green colour circuit for a fault and confirm that the green gun inside the tube is working.

Green out of alignment on samsung rear projection tv

Hi luke I am in the uk and not familiar with this set is it a three tubed crt television or an lcd projector type .. either way what you are descibing is convergence ( three primary colour guns all pointing at the same spot in a nutshell ) in the case of a crt projection tv three tubes one red one green one blue .. there should be a convergence pattern in the menu to re set the convergence via the remote check the manual . If it isn't adjustable you may have a scan coil fault or a tube ie : green with low emission check the green colour gun transistor and associated circuit for leaky caps resistors that have changed value or transistor leakage .. and don't forget the ever popular dry joints on the scan coil plugs .. hope this helps Vortash

I believe you have convergence problem on your rear projector TV. It require to replace may be 2 IC output convergence or the convergence drive, after replace those component you need to readjust convergence which mean you move the RED GREEN BLUE to be 1 on top each other you must have the remote control and service manual to get into the service mode, if you thing you can get those part in your country the service manual I may help you with that, ask your husband if he like to challenge it. I hope that is give you some ideas
Cheers

I would check the CRT socket module for Cracked solder joints. If not you may be in the early stages of the CRT shorting, If so you will need a new CRT.
