Question about Whirlpool Duet GHW9150P Front Load Washer
Can't find my manual - what does "SUV" mean?
Your TECH SHEETS mention "Sud" If too much detergent was used. Why? You get that computer thinking suds is in there and the machine is gonna go into a tailspin. Because of the low amount of water
used in HE machines, it is important
to use an HE detergent (low sudsing)
which is specially formulated to work
best under these conditions. The two
most important considerations of a front loading washer are sudscontrol and soil concentration.
First, the tumbling action in an HE machine generates
more suds than a top loader. Tumbling the clothes in and out of the water breaks the water surface
causing air to be trapped in the solution,
creating suds or foam. Multiple problems
can occur from oversudsing, such as
flooding from suds overflowing out of
the machine, formation of a suds cushion
during the tumbling action which reduces
mechanical energy, and “suds lock” which prevents
the machine from effectively spinning out the
water. In the situation of suds lock, the
machine tys to FIX the foaming poroblema by
stopping the cycle momentarily to allow
the suds to dissipate and then adding cold
water. This routine the machine goes
through to correct for over-sudsing results
in loss of energy and water savings and
can significantly lengthen the cycle time
(sometimes by as much as 2x). HE detergents
prevent over-sudsing and allow for better rinsing of suds. HE detergent matters in soil management also. Though HE washersuse about 1/3 of the water of a
top loader, the concentration of soil in the
load is much higher due to the larger
loads. To handle the higher amount of
soil, many HE detergents are specially
formulated with soil suspending ingredients
to prevent soil from re-depositing
onto clothes. Only use detergent with HE marked on it. Use the correct amount.
—Run the unit through a Rinse/Spin cycle.
—Run a Normal cycle without adding any detergent.
This should clear the unit of the excess detergent.
1. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged
2. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
3. Check wire harness connections to the drain pump,
pressure switch, and Central Control Unit (CCU).
4. Check/clean drain pump filter of foreign objects.
5. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
6. Check drain pump.
7. Check the pressure switch.
8. Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic test or any
cycle. Your tech sheet will be behind the bottom panel and will resemble THIS Suds is on page 6
