Try a cleaner disk from staples/office depot. You may have to insert it several times to get it to clean enough to be read. Of course this a shot in the dark as you have nothing else listed, nor do you have any particular computer listed. If it's slot load this is how I would deal with it. A tray load I would clean the eye with a qtip and alcohol, and then windex.
