Question about HP DeskJet F380 All-In-One Printer

1 Answer

No color I have a F380 All in One running Win 7 64 bit OS. I can't print or copy in color. I have gone through the trouble shooter and the Properties are not set on grey scale. When I print a test page there is no color section at all. The area that is supposed to be in color is just blank. I have unseated and checked the cartridge and it is seated correctly (with the plastic protector strip removed). I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver and software. The cartridge is genuine HP and is brand new. It does everything fine as long as it is in black/grayscale.

This shows that the Color Ink Cartridges are empty.
Make sure that the cartridges are not re-filled, remanufactured.
Make sure they are genuine.
Check for the expiration date on the back of the Cartridges.
If they are empty, refilled, remanufactured, and expired, please replace.

THE MITSUBISHI CP8000DW DRIVER IS DISCONTINUED HOW CAN I FIND THE DRIVER?

What OS is your computer running? I found the drivers for supported OS versions here: http://displays.mitsubishielectric.eu/resources/product/CP8000DW . The direct links are listed below. (All are .zip files so you will need to unzip them.)
Mac http://displays.mitsubishielectric.eu/files/library/files/DISCONTINUED/PRINTERS/cp8000m_macos.zip .
Win95-98 http://displays.mitsubishielectric.eu/files/library/files/DISCONTINUED/PRINTERS/cp8000dw_win95-98.zip .
Win NT and Win2K
http://displays.mitsubishielectric.eu/files/library/files/DISCONTINUED/PRINTERS/cpd8000n_wnt4_0.zip .

If you have a newer Windows OS, you can try the compatibility mode. (The NT driver will likely work in XP. If you have Vista or Win7 32-bit OS, it's possible they will work but maybe not. If you have the 64-bit version, the above files will not work directly.) For executable files in Windows, right click on the .exe file and choose properties. Select the Compatibility tab and check Always run this program in the Compatibility Mode. Select the appropriate older version of Windows. Then click Apply. Close the Properties window. Then right click again on the file and choose Run as Administrator (required for Win7 and Vista).

To check if you have the 64-bit OS, click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System (for Win7). In Vista, the steps may be slightly different. If the version name ends with x64, you have a 64-bit OS. Otherwise, you have the 32-bit version.

If you have a 64-bit OS, you need a 32-bit OS for a work-around. This can be a true second computer, a dual boot system (2 partitions with different OSes loaded), or a virtual computer with an older version of the OS. If you have Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate, you can install a virtual XP computer for free. Go to microsoft.com and download Virtual PC and the XP mode program. Install them in order. Then install your printer under XP as if it were the only computer running. (Note some computer hardware limits may stop you from using this option.) There are other virtual computer programs (VMWare, Parallels). However for the other virtual computer programs or the dual boot or second computer options, you need a licensed copy of the older OS.

I hope this helps.

I lost my software for HP DeskJet F380 All-In-One Printer.

The driver and software can be downloaded from the link to the HP support site below. Click on Software & Driver Downloads and then choose your operating system. If you are unsure if you are running a 32/64 bit edition of windows go into your start menu and right-click on My Computer (Windows XP) or Computer (Win 7/Vista) and choose properties. This will bring up the system information screen and you will find what bit edition you are running.
