Question about Toshiba Satellite M55-S3512 Notebook
My daughter has, apparently, forgotten her password. I have absolutely no interest in removing keyboard, soldering something. Surely there is a software solution.
Under the mylar label inside the computer under the RAM you will find a silkscreened box with 2 asterisks * *.
Leave one RAM in and short the pads while powering up to reset the USER and SUPERVISOR passwords!
My laptop was locked by TOSHIBA's poor BIOS update that causes the password to set randomly after updating bios.
They even mention this may happen in there service bulletins!
I had to drive for hours to have the memory reset but now I know how to and have passed this on to others to save them the hassle.
Toshiba YOU ****! and should check you firmware befor e releasing! and if bad fix it you jerks! Not let people go through this!

Id suggest the freeware program Crackpot's. With a simple boot disk, you WILL recover the password.
