Question about Mitsubishi VS-60609 60" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Line at bottom of screen takes time to clear

The tv comes on but when first turned on there is a line sort of like an interferance at the bottom of the screen it clears after about 15 min of being on and then it looks great. Obviously there is a problem going on and have gotten worse over time. Hopefully I can get an idea of what the problem might be.

If the line is horizontal and kind of rolls up the picture, or you get a dark picture at first, its probably a bad capacitor. there are 2 - 100uf 16v caps that go bad c2p05 and c2p08 on the signal board

if the picture just shrinks, it can be these caps bad, or maybe your pump up cap on the vertical IC

all parts are solder in

estimate = 100-200$

I have a Sentient CCTV System and now all the screens on the monitor have lines going across them as if there is some sort of interference, do you know how to stop this ?

Look for Totally tight cable connections. A break in the grounding causes the interference, usually. It only takes a slight loose connection to have issues.

Sharp LCD flat screen TV turns on with a grey screen

Whats happening is that the TV' sets of today are really PC's dedicated to a TV tuner..sort of.. As such, well PC's, hang up, get into "Loops" and the like. Also as such they need to be "Reset" to clear any faults, now sometime the circuit called the P.O.R. "Power On Reset", well, it doesn't... and it often takes a couple of "Reboots" to clear the "Fault".

It sounds like you have some piece of equipment in your office that is radiating AC interference back into the power line. The UPS would act like a filter to clean it up, but the set's power supply is affected when you power it directly from the line. One option is simply to leave the UPS there for the TV. Another option would be to try to determine where the interference in coming from. Find out what other equipment is on the same circuit as the TV and shut each item off one at a time until you see the TV clear up.

Black Lines in picture

You may have a bad cable, bad connection, interference or all of the above. Try wiggling the cable and see if that helps. You could also move any other electronics away from the cable (if possible) and/or change out the cable (cable tv/antenna cable) and see if that clears it up. However, if the line does not appear to have any information in it as though it was just missing then your problem is a hardware issue that will require a trip to tv repair shop.

Try disconnecting everything from the tv *except* the DVD player (that includes cable tv). You are using a component or digital connection, right? Some of these HDTVs are **** at displaying a composite feed. If this clears up the problem then the lines were probably caused by a fault in your cable tv, and you need to take it up with them.

ANYWAY, if the rolling lines remain even with everything else unplugged, it could also be electrical interference from something near by, like power cords or something.

What you have described is definitely some form of Electrical Interference. Interference can come from a variety of causes. Is the Cable Inputting the Cable Box close to some High Voltage Electrical Lines? Or Are you located near some Electrical Power Station? Or A Police station, where the Radio Transmitter of the Police Station causing the Interference? As I said, there are a variety of reasons. Also, Try to check if the connector is loose at the rear of the Cable Box, or at the rear of the TV. You will have to eliminate every possibility reason. Wish i could help further.
