It could be several other things thermal fuse, thermal cut out, hi limit thermostat, dryer coils, heat sensor,or igniter. All of these parts are inexpensive and easy to test and replace. There is a video at t http://appliancehelponline.com/gdryertroublevideo.html his will walk you thru the troubleshooting of these components. It may be a different model but the troubleshooting will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations. All parts come with installation instructions. Not all models are available. If you need help disassembling your machine there are videos of this also for most styles.

Dryer seems to work (runs, tumbler turns, timer works, air flows) except there is no heat. I see that there could be several reasons for this, how do I isolate the problem and fix it?

First look for reasons why safety components would trip and remedy them thangsthemobilian_1642.jpgthemobilian_1643.jpgthemobilian_1644.jpgthemobilian_1645.jpg
So once we have that ironed out we now have an idea where to look first. If the dryer is clean and the vent is clear and you still have no heat then one of your heating components have failed. The heating components are the element, coils, sensors, ignitors and controls.
themobilian_1646.jpgthemobilian_1647.jpg
So if the element is bad simply replace it and you now have heat but what if the element is ok?
themobilian_1648.jpgthemobilian_1649.jpgthemobilian_1650.jpgthemobilian_1651.jpgthemobilian_1652.jpgthemobilian_1653.jpgIf your ignitor and flame detector is fine you may have the very common problem of weak coils themobilian_1654.jpg
If it turns out thet your safetys are fine and your heating components are fine then you could have a bad controlthemobilian_1655.jpg
If your control is fine you could have a bad circuit breaker. The motor on American machines is 120 volt of alternating current but the 5000 watt heating element requires 240 volts.themobilian_1656.jpg

I have include a dozen or so Dryer service manuals and more HERE

The dryer does not get warm everything else works fine just no heat seems as though the heating element has stopped working any idea on how to fix this

its more likely to be thermo stat if you take off the lid you will see the dryer unit on top of that there are 2 little round objects with 2 wires on each they are held in with little metal springs if you buy a thermostat kit they are easy to change

We have an lg dle3777w dryer and it doesnt seem to get very hot to dry the clothing...it takes many cycles to get one load dry...any ideas???

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

As everything in your dryer is working fine apart from it heating properly so the recommended repair will be thermal fuse/thermostat replacement. However, you can also test its continuity before replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Gas dryer wont heat

Looks like the gas valve coils are failing. This usually begins to happen later in the cycle as the dryer has run for awhile. You will have to have the coils replaced.
