Most laptops have a FN or function key. If you check your F-Keys you will find something that looks like a box in a box. If you hold down the FN key and press the F key that has a box in a box it should change to just external, press it again and it should do both, a third time returns it.

I've tried to connect my laptop to a projector but i just get the information projected but cant be seen on my screen of the laptop

You can switch to an external monitor or data projector by two methods. 1. Connect the external monitor to the laptop's video port, power up the external monitor first and the laptop. The video information will automatically switch to the external monitor. 2. If you power up the laptop first then you can switch the video output to the external monitor by pressing the Fn key and one of the Function keys, depending upon your make and model laptop. You can also toggle between the external monitor or both LCD screen plus the external monitor or back to LCD screen only by pressing the Fn key plus one of the function key a few times. Here is a list of key combinations for some of the laptops :- IBM ThinkPad = Fn + F7 HP and Compaq = Fn + F4 Toshiba = Fn + F5 ASUS and Dell = Fn + F8

Hi, i got an easynote argo c2 from my mum who had it 7 years with no major problems,, it switch`s on but wont boot up,, power lights *** on & fan starts up but nothing else.. any ideas please...

Hello Pauline,
The very first help I would like to provide you with is the most simple and quickest: Please ask your Mum if she had this happen when she was using the device. Do not be startled should she say something like: "Oh, I forgot to tell you! If the screen doesn't come on tilt it on it's side and tap the side, softly, on the table!!!"

Just in case, in helping you with your current dilemma please let me know the following:

1. Are you near a University, secondary or tertiary education centre? Many would assuredly have a computer lab. Approaching the professor with a request for assistance would be at the top of my list.
2. Have a friend, aunt, uncle, friend's Mum, Da, etc. that is always playing Halo on their X-Box? or some such? THEY can fix ANYTHING computer related.
3. In the event that your device is beyond repair have you a budget or a small amount put away for just such emergencies? I just browsed Craigslist London and noticed several computers available at very reasonable cost. This may not be an option available to you and I apologize for the suggestion should this be so.

I'm asking because, if we can fixya it would be a technical hands on experience resulting in the conclusion that the parts needed are more expensive than a replacement.

Here are some helpful links to help achieve a rapid solution to your problem.

Bios, Drivers, Patches/Applications, Documnets for *Argo C3 Series - No reference to C2 found.

I am available to continue helping beyond this point so please keep me advised of how things are going with this! As it is lunch time in London at the moment, I will check back several times for your reply.

When i turn on the laptop it shows blank screen can i fix it. thanks

Do you see anything at all such as the boot up logo? can you hear the HDD spining? if you can hear the HDD spining but you see nouthing try the following.
connect an external monitor. Look along the function keys and find one with a screen logo on it press fn and the appropriate F key and it will switch to the external monitor. The switching of screens is normally 3 cycles 1. external monitor on 2. both laptop screen and external monitor on 3. back to laptop screen.
If the external monitor comes on it's the screen inverter or screen at fault.
Once you have confirmed what the problem is we can move on to checking the screen wiring or a screen or inverter change.

Lcd screen faint display works ok with external monitor. model argo c

Could be the backlight of the laptop. When the laptop is running try tilting the screen back and forward till you notice what may be your OS...

If so your gonna have to contact a local repairer for your laptop brand...
