Try to figure out if it's the pedal bearing itself or the bottom bracket bearings.

Brakes, i have a air leak around the boot on brake rod, going into the booster. what would cause the air leak, also i have great pressure when not running. but when started it goes strait to the floor.

What kind of vehicle is this?
Are you describing vacuum over hydraulic brakes?
It sounds as if the diaphragm in the booster may be torn, cracked, or otherwise compromised.
Brake pedal pressure when not running would be hydraulic system pressure only. If the brake pedal goes to the floor when the engine is running, you have a SERIOUS safety issue. Try to see where the extreme movement is happening. There may be parts that need replacement. Definitely repair before using.

Have no brake pressure, pedal goes straight to floor, put on new calipers and pads and bled the lines but I am no better off.


Sounds like a bad brake booster. To test, pump up the brakes with the engine off. While holding the brake pedal down,start the car. The brake pedal should drop a couple of inches and hold. If it doesn't, replace the booster.

Metal on metal noise when driving. Sounds like brake noise when brake pads are in need of replacement. Sound goes away when the brake is applied. Car only has 20,000 miles on it (2006).


Hello tgiro7: My name is Roger and I will help with your question. The fact the noise goes away when stepping on the brake pedal says the problem most likely is in the brake area. The pads could be worn out even at 20,000 miles.If the noise sounds like it comes from the front remove the wheels and check the front pads. If the pads are bad most likely the rotors are also bad.Same would apply if the noise emits from the rear. When you have the wheels off check to make sure the calipers will slide in and out on the mount pins. Should they be stuck on binding the pads will wear excessively and prematurely fail. The calipers must move freely on the pins. If you drive with your left foot on the brake pedal? The amount of pressure required to apply the brakes and not stop the vehicle is 1 to 2 pounds of pressure. Wont turn on the brake lights but will put pressure on the calipers. This in turn will wear out the brake pads. Another thing to look at would be an out of adjustment brake switch. Reach down and grab hold of the brake pedal. Give a firm tug on the pedal. Should you feel the pedal give and hear a click or two the switch was set to deep and holding the brakes on.

When I start to go the car goes but if I punch it or just put the pedal down a ways it starts to sputterish. When in park and push the pedal down, even slowly, it sounds like the engine is up, down, up,...


Is the check engine light on?

I would first inspect the air filter, change it if it appears to be dirty.

Next, I would check the fuel rail pressure with the vehicle running at approx. 2000 rpm. If the pressure doesn't stay around atleast 40 psi I would change the fuel filter, if that doesn't increase the psi then I would check the fuel pump and relay.

Then I would change the spark plugs.

If that doesn't fix the problem you will need to start checking the ignition system and the sensors.

Mercedes sprinter 216 manual gearbox sound when not presing cluch pedal, goes away when you press the cluch pedal.


it seems that the clutch is not aligned or not setup right to it's correct default mode. when you lift the foot off the clutch it goes into default and away from the gears. this could be an early sign off needing a new clutch and pressure plate. good luck.

THE CLICKING NOISE IS THE SHIFTER LOCK RELEASING, NOTHING TO DO WITH BRAKE LITES. CHECK FOR GOOD GROUNDS AT REAR LIGHT SOCKETS.
