How to installed xp2 in server hp proliant ml 350 my hard drive ok

You may need raid controller driver for HP proliant ml 350. Copy raid controller driver in flopy disc, insert it in flopy drive, insert cd in cd driver, boot server from cd and start installation process, as soon as you see Press F6 if you need to install third party scsi drivers or raid controller, press F6 and follow the instruction. It will then ask you to select RAID driver file and then will continue to windows xp installation.

XP can't recognize SCSI Ultra320 hard Drive

First, determine if your "motherboard" will support a SCSI hard drive interface. The type of SCSI drives that are available are Wide Ultra SCSI (40MB/sec), Wide Ultra 2 SCSI (80MB/sec), Ultra 160 SCSI (160MB/sec) and Ultra 320 SCSI (320MB/sec). Today's standard for SCSI drives is the SCA SCSI which has an 80 pin female cable to drive information from the drive to the system board.

Set the jumpers. The drive should have jumpers on it that were set by the manufacturer. Setting the jumpers allows the drive to be recognized by your computer's hardware. If the jumpers have not been set, you will need to set the jumper of the primary drive to "Master," and if you are installing a secondary drive, the jumpers would be set to "Slave." The master drive is the drive that the computer boots to first when it starts up. The jumpers are pins located on the block or end of the hard drive.Resetting the BIOS default should make the system recognize the drive. Or Press F6 to install third-party SCSI drivers.

I cant seem to find any drivers to download for my HP ST318406LW on the net.

Don't ever think that internet is not containing what you need, sometimes its hard to find out but you have to manage it yourself. But first of all check your model number. I can't find ether it in HP official site.

I want to retrieve data from an old 50-pin hd from my old mac. Anybody got a solution?

There are two ways of retrieving data from a SCSI hard drive.
1. Connect the SCSI hard drive to a different SCSI connector on the same data cable, make sure this hard drive has a different SCSI ID from the first hard drive or other SCSI devices in your system. When you boot up your MAC you should see the second SCSI hard drive, You can then copy off your data or remove the redundant files and keep the old hard drive in your system as a 2nd hard drive.
2. Connect the old SCSI hard drive to a SCSI USB hard drive adapter. Then connect it to the USB port on the MAC and you should see this as an external hard drive.

Configure & install two scsi disks scsi disks in ML 150 G2

The SCSI driver is required to installed during the initial boot up for installation when additional drivers are asked .the new models dont come with a Floppy drive so an external floppy drive can be used .The detection of HDD s must be at the startup by the Bios os SCSI card.

What kind of hard drive do I need for an acer aspire 4315? From what I have found it needs to be 68 pin, is there anything else? I have replaced a few hard drives and this is an easy fix (much easier than...

A hard drive with 68 pins is a wide SCSI-3 hard drive device.
SCSI drives need a SCSI controller (eg in this case an Adaptec SCSI-3 controller) and the SCSI ID of each hard drive can be set from 0 to 7. The ID setting on the hard drive is jumpered by 3 x 2 pin configuration using a binary configuration to get the 8 SCSI ID combinations.
Depending upon the length of the cable and the number of connectors on the cable, it can support quite a number of SCSI hard drives, whereas an IDE cable only supports 2 drives per cable.

Need to download driver for hard disk

you need a driver for the scsi controller not the drive. If the drive is attached to the motherboard directly the driver for xp will be on the IBM site for the model number of your computer. If the drive is attached to a raid card you need to get the drivers for the cards manufactuers site you dont need to pay anyone.

Hook up to my desktop computer

Your hard drive has a Differential Fast/Wide SCSI interface on it. You would need a SCSI interface card or a motherboard that has a SCSI built into the motherboard. Here is a link to the specs:

Driver for scsi disk seagate ST318406LW

Here you go:

http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/support/downloads/

and read it also it's important for you:

As has been remarked before, "SCSI is a collection of optionally
implemented -- or optionally misimplemented -- features", and the
other classic remark, "None of the S's in SCSI are Standard".

There is typically no requirement for what some platforms might call
a low-level format for SCSI disk devices accessed by OpenVMS.

The volume-level format -- the file structure -- is established with
the OpenVMS INITIALIZE command.

There is apparently a configuration-level or hardware-level SCSI
incompatibility here. That the console can identify the device
means that some simple operations have succeeded -- that the console
has identified the device does not imply that the device will operate,
nor that the device will operate under any particular I/O load.

Please contact your hardware support vendor or storage vendor for
assistance with the requisite integration and testing, and please
also see the OpenVMS FAQ for related discussions of third-party
hardware issues, requirements, testing, and support considerations.

The effort involved in qualification of peripheral devices is large,
and involves detecting, isolating and resolving obvious functional
incompatibilities and obvious errors within the host, controller
or drive interfaces, as well as more subtle considerations such
as ensuring that the particular device thermal-cooling and other
environmental requirements are met. Acquisition of a supported
device is often far cheaper than performing a local qualification,
and particularly when -- such as is the case here -- errors are
encountered. Additionally, if operational problems should arise,
then the supported configurations will typically see the necessary
remediation work.

The device support effort involved can range from trivially simple
to what is effectively cost-prohibitive, and the particular results
and which extreme might be involved are not entirely clear at the
onset of the testing and support effort. Put another way, there
is definite value in the supported device configurations.

Additionall, your OpenVMS version is outdated, and in need of an
upgrade. While the OpenVMS Wizard is entirely unfamiliar with the
rated capacity of this Seagate device, the Wizard will also call
your attention to the maximum disk capacity and storage-ECO-related
information in the OpenVMS FAQ. If you cannot upgrade from V7.1-2,
please make certain that you have all current ECO kits applied.

The OpenVMS Wizard is not in a position to provide device qualification
and device integration assistance at no cost -- having been involved
in this, this effort can involve weeks or months of technical effort;
far beyond what the OpenVMS Wizard can offer. Again, please contact
your hardware support or storage vendor for this assistance, or please
then expect to become of a subject matter expert for SCSI.
