Most likely a screw or other debris has stick out of the inner drum and damaged the outer tub. Inspect the inner drum for any screw head and remove it. On other cases, bra under wires can get through the holes of the inner drum and get stuck between the inner drum and the outer tub.

Disconnect power to the washer then remove the three screws securing the top panel to the rear of the washer. Slide the panel rearward and lift it off the washer then disconnect the ribbon connector from the left side of the central control unit.

Pull the dispenser drawer out then press down the release tab to completely pull it out of the washer. Once the drawer is removed, remove the screw in the recessed hole next to the drawer opening then release the tab securing the right side of the console to the cabinet.

Open the washer door and insert a flat-bladed screwdriver into the slot in the bottom center of the console. Pull the console up to release the console center tab making sure the ribbon cable clears the cabinet frame then remove the console from the cabinet.

Prop up the bottom front edge of the washer or cushion the rear top edge with cloth and lean the washer against the wall for easy access to the three screws securing the lower front access panel to the cabinet. Remove the screws then pull down the lower front access panel to remove it from the cabinet.

Remove the door gasket retaining hoop by stretching apart the retaining spring at the bottom of the door opening. Gently peel the door gasket off the lip of the right side of the door opening then place it inside the basket.

Disconnect the wiring harness from the door lock and switch assembly then remove the screws attaching the front panel to the cabinet and remove the panel. Remove the clamp securing the door gasket to the lip of the outer tub then using a picking tool, remove the trapped debris.

Follow the disassembly steps in reverse order when putting up the washer parts together again.

Slow to spin and making a loud noise.

Control boards don't growl, the fry out and die. Sounds like a drive train problem to me. If it's a front load machine, the spindle/bearing assy. has gone to washer heaven. If it's a top load machine... could be the transmission, brake/clutch assy. or the tub bearings. In either case, if it's less than 5 years old, the drive system will be warrantied through the manufacturer. If you could provide a make and model number, I could narrow this down to a fine point.
