Question about RCA TH1101 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Will not play all songs

I have the rca th1101 pearl mp3 player. I put about 160 songs on the device. When I use my mp3 only 45 songs out of 160 play. When I plug in the usb it plays all songs on my computer, it shows the same amount of memory used from when I put the 160 songs on there.

I have since then reformatted and updated firmware. The device still only plays 45 songs. How can I get this mp3 to play all songs?

having same problem ... i have about 878 songs ...on my creative zen micro 5gb only 809 showed up and on the RCA 5gb i have i put 631 and only 300 or so showed up.....i am no computer novice i have tried the following:
    clean up
    reformat
    reload firmware
trying more than one mp3 player
re profiling after intial profile or (rebuild)
my last effort is to take all my songs into a file converter and make them all the same bit rate... to see if it solves it.....i own all the cd's to my songs so i should be able to put them on my mp3 player right?

My computer shows that I have 180 songs but only 130 show up on my screen. Then, I put about 20 more on there and then it said there was 122 on the MP3 player. WTF?????

Make sure the songs are in the correct format. Make sure the songs are not AAC, WAV, streaming, or some other non-supported format

Mp3 players are more complicated than ever. This player may only accept DRM-encrypted WMA files. I would first check the songs that you have downloaded to make sure they did not have "temporary" licenses with a fixed end date. You can do this by right clicking on an individual song, clicking on properties, and selecting the "license," "digital rights mgmt" or "media usage rights" tab - the wording varies by configuration. It will give you info on the license. If the song says that it has no license, it will not work with this player. One remedy is to use mp3 converter software to convert all of those wma files to Mp3's - I don't know of any free ones, but you can certainly look for free Mp3 Converters. Another remedy on unlicensed songs is to hit the "acquire license" link in the license tab, if one exists.

It will not play music

I was having trouble with my daughter's MP3. The RCA website said to download Pearl Firmware (Version 2.) (http://support.rcaaudiovideo.com/downloads.aspx?product=25). I did, several times, but it would not work. Finally, I cheked the box "Format Data Area" under Download options. Once I did this my computer immedialty saw the Pearl and I was able to re-load all my daughter's songs in Media Player.

I hope this helps. I was so worried that I was going to have to buy her a new player.

Cant deleat songs

Re format the player. It thinks that you deleted parts of the other songs. They do this from time to time. Go under Pearl options, and select format. It will delete all current songs, but when you load the new ones, they will play better.
