    Hi Noffie
I hope this gets to you. Thanks for the advice. I know the heater is OK because I got a new one and replaced it, which has made no difference apart from to my pocket!

At the moment I'm looking to check the thermostat as I've noticed that the machine seems to think that water is hot immediately, i.e. no time taken up trying to get water to right temperature. Might be a red herring but at the moment it's all I can think of to try.
It may well end up that I have to get another control board but if I do I'll have spent about £150 + with the unnecessary heater and I'll have to make the decision whether it wouldn't be better to get a new one. Any other suggestions gratefully accepted

    thanx

    Dave

I would like to get a manual/guidefor dishwasher DW009H from B&Q . Drying does not seem to be very thorough at the end of the cycle. Also the code E3 is showing when finished.

E3 Error Code

Cause: The water heater element does not work properly or the filter mesh is blocked.
Remedy: Clean the filter mesh and if the problem continues please contact service

As far as a manual is concerned, I believe Hobart manufacturers your model and not B&Q. B&Q just sells the unit. You may want to locate a Hobart dealer in your location to try to get the manual. You will probably need one to fix the heater element any how.

WQP12-9319 E3 Error E3 - Necht Dishwasher

just had a great engieer round who looked at it and sait its the two thermostats on the heating element, took the side off replaced the thermostats and worked straight away. He showd me how the element had got hot in places because something had stoped the sprayer arm rotating and the element dose not sit in the water but relies on falling spray to heat up. He explaned he does 2 or theree of these a month in local schools where spatulas fall through the cuttlery baskes and stop the arm!

pull out washer disconnect lines unplug it open the door pull out the racks(room to work) look for any stray parts laying at the bottom(small black belt, srews any metal debris)if you find any of that try to find where it came off of.it sounds like a pump problem easy fix connect hoses to pump and mount the pump.check all hoses and spray tips thoroughly

Heater element problems

Why did you decided that it is an heating element problem,it could be a thermostat issue as well. Check with a multi-meter whether you have power on the heating element tags. In case you have power on its tags, the heating element should be replaced. But in case you can't read any power on its tags, it's probably a thermostat issue. Good luck!
