The electricity went off to my printer and it hasn't worked since. I have tried turning it on and off. I have tried resetting the ing cartriges . I have tried unplugging , waiting and replugging. Nothing...

Which brand/model of printer do you have? Check the warranty for the printer and contacting the manufacturer, if it is under warranty.

First though what type of power cord does the printer have? If there is a power module (brick), disconnect the cord from both the printer, the wall outlet and separate the cord from the module. Wait a minute and then plug the cord into the module and then into the wall outlet. If it has an LED, is that LED lit? (Check the printer itself or the module and find out what power should be getting to the printer. If you have a multi-meter, check if the cord is getting the correct power level.) Try another power cord if you have one that matches the connection and the voltage output (for a power module).

Some printers have a soldered-in fuse and it should be handled as a warranty repair when the printer is under a year old.

    I hope this helps.

(I'm currently waiting for a return shipping label for a similar printer issue. HP gave a credit for a new printer instead of sending a refurbished unit. I didn't have a spare power cord but did have 30 V at the printer side of the power module's cord. This was at the specifications for the unit. This is the first HP printer I've ever had fail within a year. Previously the ink jet failed after 9 years of use.)

HP 9670 printer head not moving

See my advice would be that if your printer is in warranty then call up HP Total care as u will get a replacement if the issue is not fixed over the phone. But if the machine is Out of warranty, then you can try the following: Make sure the printer is connected directly to the wall socket(No Porwe Surge or anything). 1) Power Drain: Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer, then press & ho;d the power key for 30 seconds, then release the key & plug in the power cable back. Check if the problem is resolved. If Not
    2) Partial reset: Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer again. Press and hold the # and 3 keys together and while holding them plug the power cord back in. Check if the problem is resolved. If Not
    3) Semifull reset: Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer again. Press and hold the # and 6 keys together and while holding them plug the power cord back in. Check if the problem is resolved. hope fully the problem will be fixed by this. Please let me know
If still the same problem arises then ur printer may just need a replacement

I need a power cord for my HP officejet all in one 7210 series

You can buy them from HP by calling 1-800-227-8164, Monday-Friday, 8:30am to 6:00pm EST. You only need to do this if you need the adapter. If it is only the power cord running from your electrical outlet to the adapter that you need, you can get that at any local computer shop for a couple of bucks.

Please goto the HP website and see if there is a firmware update for this machine. Download and you can also download the procedure.

It seems to be that it's a controller issue and reinstalling the firmware will usually resolve the problem.

    Power failure

Please follow the below given instructions to resolve the issue.

Please remove the All-in-One Printer from the Power Surge Protector and plug it directly into a wall Power outlet, as the surge protector may not provide enough power to printer.

Please perform the step given below to power cycle the unit after removing the print cartridges from the printer:

    1. Verify that the unit is switched on. Unplug the all-in-one from power and disconnect the USB cable from the computer.
    2. Wait 30 seconds.
    3. Plug in the power only
    4. Repeat steps 2-3 two more times.
    5. On the third time after plugging the unit into power, reconnect the USB cable from the all-in-one to your computer.

Reset the All-in-One to the factory default settings by using these instructions:

    1. Unplug the power cable from printer when the printer is powered on and wait for 20 seconds.

    2. Then, press and hold # and 6 while plugging in the power cord.

Continue holding until it displays Semi Full Reset message in the front panel of the All-in-One.
A semi-full reset will do the following:
The user settings to the factory defaults, Language and country settings on some models, Fax logs, Fax headers, Fax speed dial information.
Please install the below firmware update to resolve the issue.

Ink says empty but cartridge is new

On the phone for an hour with those idiots in India, same exact problem. Here is what you do: 1: Unplug AC cord from back 2: Hold down the # and 6 key, plug in the powe cord and continue to hold the kes for 1 minute. 3. Printer will power off durning this time. Release the keys and plug in the power cord. 4. You may need to press the power button on. This will hard reset the printer. It will go throught the initialaztion process and suck your cartridges but should solve the problem. HP SUCKS!
