May be faulty and need to be replaced but check for proper voltage to it first. Some of those detectors can go off from hairspray, deodorant spray, perfume, high humidity, etc (aerosols)
Even a dog laying close to it with a little gas can do it sometimes. (lol) seriously. Do you have a battery hooked up to your trailer as well, may help.

Why is the protechtor alarm going off 2010 springdale travel trailer?

Have you checked all gas line fitting, to ensure that you do not have a true leak? Some spray cans , like deodorants, can cause the alarm to sound.

Electric and battery working fine but gas will not come on. It keeps clicking and then the red light comes on

Hello,

Assuming this is on a travel trailer / RV, correct?

The red "check" light indicates that the fridge was not able to detect the presence of a flame from the burner area. This could be due to low LP gas pressure (causes different flame size), no LP gas (tanks are exhausted / turned off), damaged wiring going to the igniter / sense electrodes, defective gas valve, or damaged igniter / control board.

The LP gas detector alarm is going off and I can't stop it.

Unfortunately, it may have to be replaced. Not uncommon for those to be affected by humidity, condensation etc, hair spray, aerosols, moth balls too close, etc. and begin to malfunction. Just be sure propane is off. They can be bench tested,(out of the unit) with a battery, just to be sure it's time to replace it.

I have a 2004 sandpiper toyhauler, i pull it with my 06 powerstroke, the last two times i hooked up my trailer it fried my alternator.I think there must be a short somewhere, any ideas?

How are the batteries on the sandpiper? If they are dry and/or shorted the alternator on the F250 will overwork trying to charge them thus overheating and burning out the alternator. If the batteries on the sandpiper are okay, you have a shorted wire either in the connection on the truck for the trailer wiring or the trailer wiring itself.

Alarm in Camper keeps going off

New trailer giving off fumes from chemicals and glues used in building process, various aerosol sprays, humid weather, are just a few things that will cause them to go off , as well as a faulty detector. Even too many people sleeping in a small area where detector is located, with windows closed, will cause it due to excess breathing causing high level of co2. Double check fumes not entering from Fridge, water heater, or any other source of open flame. Pay attention to when it goes off, and what is happening and running at the time. Low voltage to detector as well, can cause it to go off.

You can buy a "T" fitting that connects to the LP tank with a valve allowing you to pull LP gas off for your BBQ before the RV regulator

Most any RV shop can get them from NTP Distirbution
