You should be able to open the remote. Either there is a screw on the back side or you can just pry the two halves apart with a flat blade such as a screwdriver and remove the battery from the remote. You can then try putting the battery in and see if the remote is reset, if not, take the remote to a dealer or the installer to get it fixed.
Let me know how this works out for you.

All you can do, for now, is to remove the battery, from the remote. This will at least allow for Non-remote operation. If that doesn't work, then the receiver is faulty, and you will have to bypass the unit, until it is repaired. Then you need to troubleshoot, your problem. Then you need to check, the button(s) aren't stuck, or some sort of contamination under the rubber buttons, and the switch "Fingers" on the board. They often get dirty and false trigger. Reset the master unit in the car, then code them again, and try it again. If it still will not work, then you will have to get it looked at by a professional, most likely you will need a new remote? But sometimes the receiver gets a spike from the cars power, and this causes it to go faulty.

It would almost appear that your battery is weak. If the engine doesn't freely turn over the remote start will not work because it recognizes the problem. I would also hope that you plug in your block heater when it's really cold.

Sound like a reversal of wires on the autostart. Should only cut out if you don't have the key in ignition and apply brake. Did you have this installed or was it in when you bought the vehicle?
