Question about Whirlpool Duet GHW9150P Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Washer is partially refilling after spin cycle.

The washing machine slowly refills after cycle is over. I've been turning it for another drain/spin cycle which dries the clothes, but when I come back later it is partially filled again. The laundry tub drains well and I've got a fresh lint trap on the outlet hose which extends about 4" or 5" below the lip of the tub. Any help you could give me would be greatly appretiated. Thanks.

How to reset my washer, I am having problems with the washer, it does not want to spin on the final cycle; however it does wash. what could possibly be wrong and how can I fix this?

Please remove power for a while and allow unit to drain out the residual voltage so as to reset. Now press down the start /stop buttons prior to plugging the unit. Select a different program and see the timing of the water low into the inlet and in the drain cycle. If you notice that the flow is low then clean or replace the inlet valve, check the water level controller to stop inlet flow and start wash and finally the drain and refill for rinse spin. if not there is an error in the program for the refill and must be checked on the drain and level controller.

Washer sticks on wash cycle; runs continuosly on spin cycle

That sounds like you have one of them fancy water saving outfits with a diverter valve that dumps the pump water continuosly over the clothes. Weirdest washer I ever saw. Could be the solenoid that opens the drain pump has failed. Don't know too much about em but I do have the service manual. Post your model number for a more precise answer. My washing machine is not changing cycles. It fills, drains and refills. It sat unused for 1 year. 12 months ago it was working fine.

Hi there. I can help you.

When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

  • It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

  • It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. If this is the case, turn off the water and remove the hoses. Check both hoses to be sure the filter screens are not clogged with crud and that the hoses aren't kinked.

Washing machine refills after spin cycle

Can you hear the pump running if not the machine may be syphoning out, if the outlet is into the down pipe too far this can cause it to syphon. The outlet should only be into it by about 6". The machine will fill with more water on the rince than the wash cycle that will cause the problem. If you can hear the pump running the machine mite be over filling there may a blockage in the presure system if you take the lid off (making sure the powers turned off) you will find a round switch with a thin hose comming off it tace the hose and you should find a small bottle this may be blocked. Hope this helps you.

Washer won't drain or spin

Probably a bad drain valve. As long as the tub is still full of water, the controls will not allow it spin, refill, etc. Have a service technician check the drain valve.
